Country Squire 50th Anniversary in my Victor Rimkus bent Brandy with turquoise inlays. I wonder why Don Warren hasn't done that? Nice pipe, as usual. Good question as Don and Victor are both in Albuqueruque and know each other. However, Victor doesn’t make many pipes and this is the only one with inlays that I’ve seen him do. This pipe was the inspiration for the turquoise inlays on three of my RobE pipes. Rob was working on a commissioned pair that I wanted as smooth cross grains. He hit a couple wood issues. As we discussed what to do, I didn’t want to blast or rusticate. My lovely wife remembered this pipe and suggested turquoise inlays and the rest is some good smoking pipes.

Sailors really made the mark on rope tobacco, maybe it strikes a chord with those in transportation?

Sailors really made the mark on rope tobacco, maybe it strikes a chord with those in transportation? I thought it was because it smells like diesel and burning tires.

greets & happy TGIF to those affected. Full walks just done, company of no-band 5x50. After the Ed is fed, Abingdon in old Nording freehand & continue with the papers. Truck full of empty cans/plastic bottles to recycle center after breakfast, could bring close to $50 back on the deposits. Busy with rest of the day mainly with wifie's needs.
65, clear, headed for 81 eventually

Sailors really made the mark on rope tobacco, maybe it strikes a chord with those in transportation? I thought it was because it smells like diesel and burning tires. Except it does not. Brown twist smells like exceptional brown flue cured Virginia. I think you're mistaking black twist, for brown. Brown Bogie, Brown Irish are some of the best Virginia tobacco on the planet and loved for good reason.
Speaking of, I'll have to cut up some fresh Rum Twist for this afternoon.
Now it's Eight State Burley in a 1970's Dr Grabow Regal Ajustomatic Patent No. 2461905 which was my grandfather's pipe, and I've only just cleaned it a couple days ago. Never smoked this pipe before today.
It's not been buffed or waxed at all, only had a stem/shank/bowl cleaning and it will eventually get prettied.

Enjoyed a bowl of nightcap in front of Tower Bridge in London tonight. That is so cool! I can't believe they let you smoke in London these days. Do you have a mask with a hole in it? 😁 they’re more relaxed than Scotland down here. Hardly a mask to be seen except on the tube.

Thanks to some recent trades - I’ve discovered two new blends that I really enjoy. Sutliff Mark Twain and GLP Pennyfarthing. Having the latter currently in a MM cob.

Hardly a mask to be seen except on the tube. Funny what happened to Scotland after they were all about freedom for so long, now they imprison themselves.
