Halfway through a bowl of Haunted Bookshop when I realized the calendar had turned a page. Happy September!

Inaugural bowl of MM965 in the Savinelli Tortuga 305. Insisted on finishing every bit, got a bit hot, and got paranoid about potential damage, staring into the bowl forever. All seems well. I think these things are heartier than is often assumed.

back from usual full walks, no-band 5x50 for company. Also dropped off the Dyson vac for repair (probably order battery). After the Ed is fed, Abingdon in old SamMartin freehand & continue with the papers. Later probably pick up meds for da Mrs.
63, overcast for now, headed for mid 70s eventually

Started the day with Haunted Bookshop and coffee in the backyard. Went to work in the garden, cleaning up potted plants and baskets. Culling a few that have gotten too raggedy.

Started the day with Haunted Bookshop and coffee in the backyard. Went to work in the garden, cleaning up potted plants and baskets. Culling a few that have gotten too raggedy. I'm sitting on 30-40 pounds of ripening tomatoes right now myself. Have to offload a few to sister and family. I get spotty contracts here and there with some chefs at the local country clubs, and so occasionally I get a nice payout when they are willing to pay $6-8/lb for heirloom varieties. Chefs like to pick and choose which strains they want to buy, and the last season and this were affected by the pandemic. One manager at a country club across town has promised me that next season, they'd take at least 20-30 pounds at $6/lb. At a different country club from two years ago, one chef really liked the smaller brown tomatoes for salad presentations and made some dishes based on those that I grew, simultaneously two other chefs within the same kitchen preferred Black Krim's, Brandywine, and Vintage Wine varieties I'd had.
I'm now starting some C&D John Marr in an MM Mark Twain cob.

I googled it and got exercise bands. Cheers!

@charles - Not to answer for Ed there, but he's talking about 5x50 and various sized no-name cigars. No band implying they are off-brand or reclaimed factory seconds.

Figured I'd bust out my 1970 Pioneer meer gourd calabash after seeing everyone give their's a recent outing. Old picture but here's mine in the stand. This was my grandfather's pipe. Going to smoke some 2010 Orlik Golden Sliced in it now.

I've been off for a while trying to keep in touch with family in Southern Louisiana. I've mainly been rotating between a few new to me burly blends the past few days. Having some Surbrugs Crystal Palace in a Savinelli 626 Saturnia for a change of pace.

2010 Orlik Golden Sliced in the gourd calabash again, to chase the faint latakia ghost out of the pipe I was noticing toward the end of the bowl. Up working late night server conversions.
