A few months ago, I stumbled across this pipe while searching SP for Savinelli's 802 shape and added it to my wishlist. Although I collect higher end Savs, I hadn’t seen the Riserva line before. At the end of the pics will be a pic of the card from the box which explains the line. Best of all this series is priced similarily to Punto Oro Smooth Natural, but the grain is Giubileo d'Oro quality. (GdO smooths run $250-300 more than PO Smooth Natural.) What caused me to finally pull the trigger on this one is SP got in stock this past week a GdO 802 with worse grain. Savinelli Riserva 802 Canadian:

That's a very beautiful pipe, Congratulations. I'm sure you will have many great smokes with that pipe. I have an old Sav 802 Canadian Punto Oro sandblast from the 1980s. This pipe is a little smaller than todays 802, but one of my best smokers.

That's a handsome beastie, John. I've seen the Riserva line somewhere before, but don't remember where. Maybe it was SP.

The more I look at it, the more I find its proportions to be bang on.

Beautiful Briar. My first, and only Canadian, is a Dunhill that I picked up several years ago and refurbed.... This thread made me realize that I need to enjoy this little beauty more often.
