OK, it seems to me (with my very little experience with plugs) that most plugs have "grain" -- there's a hard way to cut them (against the grain) and an easy way to cut them (with the grain). Which method is preferred? Which gives better flavor? Does cutting one way allow all the components to shine, whereas the other way you just get limited components?

Cut against the grain top to bottom to capture all varietal layers and flavors...

Cut against the grain top to bottom to capture all varietal layers and flavors... Unless or course we're talking about Hair Plugs.

Cut against the grain top to bottom to capture all varietal layers and flavors... That makes sense. Good to know.
