They went back into the jar after the photo was taken! BTW, I think those flakes are OGS. I need to pick up a few more tins and squirrel them away. This Erinmore Flake, on the other hand...I don't know, I'm picking up a weird sweetness sitting on top of otherwise nice tasting Virginia tobacco.

That stuff was nasty, had to dump it out mid-bowl. Making up for it now, with some aged PS-Luxury Bullseye Flake, courtesy of trailboss (Thanks again, Charlie). Smoking it in a GBD Sable Colossus Lumberman.

Sorry to hear about a bummer experience with Erinmore flake, I like it but everyone has different tastes and I think Darin laid out a good argument some time back about a person's PH determining what is palatabile. I hope that the Bullseye Flake is a better fit for you.

I hope that the Bullseye Flake is a better fit for you. The Bullseye is amazing! Time has totally transformed this tobacco. I've got some recent vintage stuff and its pretty good. The jar you sent me is from 2014, and its got a lot of raisin/plum going on. Very rich, full flavor. The Erinmore is just not for me, maybe. I'll stash the jar and try it again later. No worries here. I like to try new stuff, and not everything will suit me. That's a good thing, in a way. I can't cellar everything.

Still enjoying the Riverboat Gambler? After reading your posts, I had to dig into the stash and pull a tin for myself. That might be the most complex of the C&D Burley blends that I've had a chance to smoke. Definitely a favorite. Although, Haunted Bookshop will remain my breakfast blend.

Yeah Pete, loving the Riverboat Gambler and I will have to throw a few more tins into the cellar this year yet of that one. I really love all the Bob Runowski blends. Been thinking about smoking Epiphany for a week and still haven't smoked any too recently. Just so much open and I'm kind of smoking more seasonal fall holiday blends the past week or two.

With the onset of autumn, I've been thinking about English/Balkan/latakia blends. Smoked some GLP Charing Cross earlier. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I used to enjoy that genre. I think I'll have to ease back into the English blends. They'll slowly creep back into the rotation.

It's the same for me. I started 10 years ago on Dunhill My Mixture 965, Balkan Sasieni, Frog Morton's and got a bit worn out on latakia within a few years. I tend to have a couple bowls with latakia per month, but I will smoke up this open C&D From Beyond tin for these next two months for the season.

Just checked the cellar spreadsheet, and "discovered" a half pound of Sutliff Revelation Match. Vaguely remember it being a fairly light English. Gonna have to pull that one out for a taste.

Not too great, in my experience/opinion. It is a match to House of Windsor's Revelation, rather than like C&D Epiphany which is the match to Phillip Morris Revelation that Einstein smoked. The Sutliff Revelation match is too goopy and sweet with too much propylene glycol and I recently tossed an ounce left over from a year and half ago. I highly recommend Epiphany (not sure if you've tried it) but it's a Runowski, it's mildly plum topped as well but it's stronger C&D burley and components. Used to be my morning cob smoke with coffee, especially while driving.

Finishing whatever is left in this Lorenzo pot ,from yesterday...my shiba-inu thought 2:AM would be a good time to play. I was somewhere in dreamland ,and woke to a crazy shiba, standing on her hind legs ,and boxing the edge of my mattress with her front paws. She's like the baby Kangaroo in the old loony-tune cartoons. now that I'm wide awake, she's snuggled up next to my wife, and their both sound asleep!
