2016 C&D Epiphany in an MM Rob Roy cob.
EDIT: WOW - Epiphany has always been one of the few smokes that prompts me to think "Why don't I just smoke this?" and with 5 years of age on it, this is one blend that ages extremely well.

Placing a couple tobacco orders today. I think I'll add some Epiphany.

Twas a hectic morning, mostly wifie & her ongoing ills. Managed usual walks quite early, no-band 6x42 for company. Finally finished my breakfast/brunch & Exotique in old SamMartin freehand & midway thru the papers. Yard work in the mix this afternoon.
66, overcast, headed for 72 eventually

October 13th. Had a bowl of escudo in the old castello sc23 apple while watching William Shatner ride to space on the blue origin new shepard rocket. As a child I was more influenced by the character of Spock but Kirk gave me a sense of bravado I still have to this day. Watching this beloved character actor actually go into space is an odd sort of symmetry. At 90 years old he now holds the record as the oldest person to ride a rocket. May have to open one of my hidden treasure blends to celebrate. (its Seattle pipe club mississippi mud blend. I have an 8oz can and two of the 3.5oz tins that have been resting for almost two years. On the other hand they are safe and sound and could rest a bit longer.... A toast to Leonard Nimoy who should have been there today.

Smoking Sir Walter Raleigh in an MM Let Freedom Ring 5th Ave cob. Ordered a couple 14 Oz. tubs from P&C before the large tubs are discontinued and they shipped the tubs loose in a box. One tub was smashed in on the bottom to the point the cardboard broke the seal, other tub in good condition for storage. Hadn't planned on opening either of them yet. Upon opening, Sir Walter Raleigh smells like a chemical laden anise hairspray, but magically smokes well despite it's sopping wet "never dries" properties and is soaked in both propylene glycol and some form of a burn agent. This bowl here has been sitting out for an entire 5 days on printer paper and it's just as moist as straight out of the tub. Will not buy or stock any more of this stuff, even though it does taste alright and nearly smokes itself.

Pegasus in the Wednesday cob on the front porch.
I've been debating giving Pegasus one more try, but have been hesitant. I bought a tin of it and some OJK when I was exploring burly blends, and really thought I would enjoy it. I'm not sure if it was timing, or something specific about the tobaccos in it, but I ended up dumping it twice. It seemed to quickly leave my mouth feeling like I had been stuck on a desert Island with no water.
Oddly enough, I just had to dump some Dan Blue note for the same reason. I've switched to some Haunted Bookshop in the Nording signature freehand and things are much better.

I prefer HB, Riverboat Gambler and Three Friars to Pegasus myself. Right now, it's Riverboat Gambler in the Wednesday cob with a Guinness Draught on the front porch. Beautiful evening here.
