I was very fortunate in that I have received quite a few generous samples and tins from different members. I had many open blends and samples that I have been working on. Now that I have emptied many jars it is time to open gifted tins. First was a large bag of Mac. B Virgina flake have had a couple of bowls and can say the age make a huge difference. This morning I cracked a tin from another member and sitting here on the porch with some Jack Knife nice full flavor blend. I will add to this thread when I open up another gifted tin. I wanted to show my thanks on here to those folks who have taken this newer pipe smoker under thier tobacco wings.

Cracked a tin of Erinmore Flake from trailboss and dried a couple of flakes. It does have a fruit note but could not figure out which fruit is was flavored like. I like burley better when it is cut with something else and this one with virgina. Nice ballance overall still learning about burley blends. |

Just got home and put some of it in a meer my only meer and I get more fruit out of it then I did the first. I think your right Charlie Juice Fruit with Burley. |

This morning is some Sutliff Crumble Kake from isett2860 in a Comoy's Gresham Giants 343 sandblasted Billiard with coffee on the side on the porch. So far I get a little sweet very mild english blend. It does not need much drying out of the tin. |

Dunhill standard mixture in smooth Aldo Velani bent bulldog. The tin was with a lot of really good samples from isett2860. Very mello very smooth and can taste a little sweetness. On the porch in a light rain. |

adding my many thanx for the recent large box of gifted tins & baggies of the heavy latakia goodies, many recommended by Lestrout. Gonna work on 'em soon as dried out enuf. Now getting down to non-gifted Exotique + 4oz baggie of Boswell Northwoods. Most of 'em from the regulars at the chat link. No idea why any think I'm deserving of same but will kindly accept same

Smoking some Crumble Kake in my sandblasted b42 Pete. Sharing it with my engineer in the cob I gave him sometime ago. Very mellow smoke. So I get to share some of a gifted tin this trip.

Opened jared and labeled new to me tin from bonanzadriver Magnum Opus. Set some out on a lid to dry a little more. Loaded into Aldo Velani "Bulldog" smoking a bowl while finishing changing oil on my little Tacoma. Very smooth Latakia blend really enjoying smokes very cool. Thank you Uncle Dino. |

Penzance in a small french liverpool. Popped tin last light jared and put some in tin to dry. Very moist out of the tin a very pleasant aroma. Very mellow flavor and a little sweet. With coffee on the side watching 5 deer feed this morning.

Penzance was already a chase blend by the time I heard of it. I tried some in a box pass a few years ago. It was very good, but not enough for me to pursue.

Luckily for me I received a box I did not have to pass on with several tins and many large sample bags with labels in them that fit on the jar lids and then to top it off a second box from the already generous member. |
