Pap I read the Article and I think it was not a place to put a trap like that. I had a neighbor who has passed who used to put out poison and several of my farm cats would not come back. My dog was protected by my invisible electric fence. I do not like to poison animals, but you need to keep yours on your property, but the Authorities showed massive ignorance putting that where hikers, bikers, etc were liable to pass.

Spot on guys....if we did such nonsense we could expect prison time and financial ruin as the families of the departed sued our asses off.... I don't see a dimes worth of difference with rigging a booby trap shotgun on your property.
I was listening to a podcast recently where the subject matter was prohibition. The Feds released poison alcohol to the population so that they could track lawbreakers...people died.

Wow. I had to look M44 up on Wikipedia. I had never heard of the things. Sorta makes sense they were invented in the 60's.
I'm no environmentalist, but they seem a little bit indiscriminate. Plus I'm sure the fire department is not pleased it had to spend tens of thousands of dollars to respond to a hazmat call.

It's not just you. A federal chemical weapons mine. What could possibly go wrong? But don't worry, they're going to complete a 'thorough review', to 'determine WHETHER improvements can be made', to 'REDUCE' the chance this will happen again.
Can I tell the cops that when my shotgun booby kills a girl scout?

Turns out it WAS illegal: cyanide traps on Federal land was made illegal in 2016. I wonder if anyone will be punished...

Poorly thought out exercise on so many levels it boggles the mind; however, as is true in many cases, cross out everything except the nouns, consider the pieces remaining and the dots rather unfortunately connect.

That is too insane and someone needs to be held accountable! The people responsible probably got transferred with a promotion....I have had friends and family work in a whole range of government occupations...accountability isn't a strong suit.

Promotions are most likely the way to move someone out of a department before everyone else gets into trouble.
