Been watching the NHL since Brad Park, Espo and Bobby Orr. You know, Eddie Shore...old time hockey. Played at a high level. The NHL has changed so much in the past 20 years I hardly recognize it anymore. I am not a fan of the direction. You can't touch anyone and there's no fighting. Boring as hell. Ron...for you. So good, thanks for this, I enjoyed it. I know hockey has changed over the years but I still love it. And I still love my Redwings!

I think that I would have enjoyed hockey if they had outlawed the fighting. I went to see Gordie Howe play and the game wasn't half over when I left a couple of hours later because of all the fighting. If people want to see that kind of stuff, they can watch mixed martial arts.

I remember watching those guys and more before helmets or concern for bloodborne pathogens. My brothers put it on the tube and I was morbidly curious about the fighting, so I watched. On UHF broadcast. I guess that was a while back! The game has been cleaned up considerably.
I had professional acquaintances with a couple guys who were in NHL circa 2000. Neither seemed anything like they were on the ice. They were definitely big boys, but certainly not belligerent!
I enjoy the way the NHL game is now. It's a high speed contact sport and guys are going to get scrappy, but there's no need to beat the poop out of each other after every other check. Mrs Terrapin would have liked Olde Tyme hockey: loves the fights (but then feels bad if someone is bloody).

This was a couple days ago, AHL, but Marc McLaughlin has come up to Boston to cover injuries this season. There's still some blood.

Even though the Red Wings are 8 points out of the last wildcard spot, with only 19 games left, I'm gonna be tuning into tonight's game against the Black Hawks. Saturday's game against the Bruins should be a hoot!

Hey, Red Wings pulled it off in the third! I had it on, but I was mostly reading. And it's a twofer matinee weekend-- @ Boston Saturday and back to Detroit Sunday. I'll be "there" with bells on.

Silver Uh oh! Ha ha, this one might be a game! The Wings showed up with a lot of energy. Looked like the B's were still sleepy to start the game. The Bruins look more like the Bruins in the 2nd period.

Bs have had three or four "off" games in a row and it's concerning.

The Wings barely withstood the barrage. The Bruins are still having a record-breaking season. But will the curse of the President's Trophy come into play? We'll see soon enough.

We'll see soon enough. Yes, we'll see. It wouldn't be the first curse Boston reversed! It's been an exceptional year for Bruins, for sure. Lots of personal bests, too. I just hope they aren't burning out, because that Cup is still a month away.
