my Nording Queen Rusticated Diplomat I ordered from P&C finally arrived today! Hubby likes this one. My other two queens were too small, didn't fit his hand. As soon as I pulled it out of the sock he commented that he liked it and promptly held it and said it fit nice. But no, he is not going to take up pipe smoking, lol.
and my order from Aristocob came in. I got two smaller pipes to take on hiking trips and some pipe mud for when I start playing around with pipe making and modifications. Just ordered some heirloom corn seed to see what size cobs we get. The corn won't be a waste because it's great for cornmeal!
in the front is the Lady Godiva (unfinished or "neked" Eaton) and in the back is the Morgan. I also pre-ordered the "Home Grown" Cobfoolery kit. This year's contest requires you to actually grow the corn and harvest the cob to make the pipe. They will be sending actual corn seed used by Missouri Meerschaum. Should be pretty neat!

If there was an AA for pipe smoking, Lady M would be the Queen

Anyone who smokes Capt. Black Cherry and doesn't flee howling from the room is definitely not a quitter. (couldn't resist, sorry:)

I wonder if any farmers would give up some cobs that you could try making pipes with..with all of the different corn varieties out there you could have a real fun time trying all kinds of cobs to make cob pipes with!

don't have a lot of corn growing in our area, and mostly it's all modern hybrids which have really small cobs. we've ordered some heirloom seed, so the cobs should be bigger on those, and the corn is good too!

Next time you take a country drive maybe some corn fields along the road will have cork stalks that fell over on the road and there may be a cob or two that you could save from getting run over!
