Hi!! I found this estate pipe branded “Mayflower”. In Pipedia it says that this was made by National Briar Pipe Co., but it should have an N on the left side instead of the star… Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!! I enjoy and learn from every thread in the forum!!! Greetings!!!

Welcome, this brand is unknown to me. It looks at lot like the pipes I've recently gotten for refurbishing. Enjoy!

Here is one with the same star as yours on the stem: www.ebay.com/itm/324255759143National pipe was based in New Jersey, they might have outsourced production to France, but I do not see the star logo on any of the National branded pipes. A different Mayflower stamping, made in Germany: www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/estate/germany/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=333309It is anyone's guess, the mayflower is an iconic name, and with the new world where tobacco was founded, it is kind of a natural to use the name, it could have even been a house pipe made in France for a tobacco shop named the Mayflower in days of yore. I think that the star on the stem is a major clue. Certainly not a high value pipe, but it may be a great smoker after cleaning it up.
