Boswell's is selling a VA/Per on their website, which they call "J.M.'s Private Stock". According to the site, they only sold it in the store until recently. From what I've seen online, "recently" actually means pretty recently; sometime in the past several months. Correct me if that's wrong.
Anyway, have any of you tried it and have thoughts on it?

I've never tried any of Boswell's blends. Curious to read comments from the Patch, myself.

$90 a pound, it may be worth it, but it isn’t cheap….
Consider the source though, not long ago I was buying Peter Heinrich’s Curly Block for $80 for 8 ounces.

Yeah, I'd call that a little pricey. GL Pease tobacco is going for about 82. Its looks like they have a lot of aromatics (33) and a handful of English (8) and the one VaPer. Reminds me of most of the tobacco shops I frequented in the 80's.

Northwoods seems to be a popular blend.

Most of my Stokkebye cellar was bought at the mid $30 range.

I was at Boswell’s last month, and picked some up while I was there. It’s pretty good. Not going to blow your socks off, but solid. Smells like sutliff red va, and it’s kind of a very broken flake, so I imagine they might have outsourced it. I found it to be less acidic that I thought it would be, and the perique is more fruit than pepper. I’ll have another bowl of it today, and report back more details.

Oh, so, I went back to this. It’s pretty OK. It’ll probably be better with some age. Some sharp edges. Pretty sure there’s a good amount of 515 RC-1 type stuff in it. It was pressed and rubbed at some point - kinda the cut/consistency of MB Golden Extra. More grassy than sweet, IMO.

I got mine. Haven't had a chance to try it, yet.
