I have to say that I'm just as guilty as my wife. While away for a few days of deer hunting, the upstairs of the house got decorated for Christmas (excluding the tree and garland that wraps the walls of the living room). Tonight was my turn. Started to decorate the cave. Currently sitting at the computer, surrounded by a bunch of plastic storage totes. Listening to Bing Crosby. Will have to smoke something in my Sav Bing's Favorite, I guess.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, I know we did. All of our kids were down for the weekend, my baby girl and I continued our 20+ year tradition of picking out the family Christmas Tree. The kids have all left for their homes and Blondie and I are decorating the tree (meaning I strung the lights and she decorates. ;-) ) The Nutcrackers are all on duty...  |

Ha ! I failed to mention that the one with the 2021 date on it is to be the trophy for the winning family at this years Christmas party. We've held a Christmas Eve party every year since we moved here 16 years ago. Blondie arranges games that have each of the families competing with one another. |

I feel your pain; my wife has at least one Nutcracker like yours, and two of some, plus Nineteen totes of Christmas ornaments. She working on the tree now, but I got the word today ,that My pipe shelf will soon become a Christmas display. My pipes and tobacco will be packed up through the holidays.
The shelf only holds a third of my collection , and I'll hold out a few pint jars ,plus some pouches so the puffing will continue...it's only once a year, and it makes her happy!

You guys are lucky to have family that you see at Christmas. The only reason we even put up a tree is that our son wants to. I used to decorate the outside when we lived in a neighborhood, but it's been decades since we've had people at our house for Christmas or Thanksgiving. Count your blessings.

Well...pack up your gal, and head my way...the place will look like Santa's workshop by time you get here, plus there's egg-nog in the icebox ,and seven fruitcakes soaking in cream ,white sherry in the garage.
I have some brandy from the sixties tucked away , and some Crown Royal hidden in the tobacco bar, but I hardly even sip anymore. Perhaps you can fire me up!!!
