I have tried to educate myself about Kirstens over the years. I only kept and smoke one but they have always intrigued me. The bent pipe is either a Beau Geste, Premier or Firesider, depending on the size if I recall correctly. The straight is what they call brasstone. Its possible it is a rarer antique brass, hard to tell from pictures on those. They should both have a model letter stamped on them that can also help you with an exact id. They both turned out very well! Nice restoration work.

Nice work, Frank...you really gave them a new lease on life.
Long before I was a tobacco smoker, I remember being intrigued by the ads back in the 70's where they claimed to deliver a cooler smoke as a result of their engineering.

Thank you Gentlemen! The bend one is indeed a Firesider (F) and the straight one is a Sportsman Brass (SX).

Yo stv
Spectacular work! You should puff them. I got my Kirsten(s) at the Chicago Show last year, based, not on my admiration for the backstory of Prof. Kirsten and his great-grand-daughter nor for the aeronautical technology within, but on the revelation that the bowl of EMP I had was absolutely the tastiest and best I had ever experienced, this with decades of puffing various versions of that Dunhill classic. I don't know if it's the calabash like effect of the stem or whether pulling the smoke straight down through the bowl is the difference, but my Kirsten elucidates and expands the flavors of most of my blends.
