The joys of getting older. It took me half the day to realize it is December--been posting in the November WAYS thread. I am smoking pipe tobacco in this Willmer brandy. I would tell you all what I am smoking, but I loaded the pipe up about 15 minutes ago and don't remember what I put in it. It looks like pipe tobacco so I should be fine.

So I posted the above then read to the top of this thread. Glad to see I am not the only one suffering senior moments today. (Thanks Walt and Pete). And I actually do know what I am smoking--Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake. Finished off the little half-pint jar and need to refill it....

Been busy that past week or so with Christmas decorating and finishing the bathroom re-do. But I did find the time to work or some estate pipes. Their original conditions were pretty good. They only needed bowls reamed/sanitized, rims cleaned of cake and gunk, and the stems needed sanitizing and polishing. left to right: Weber Deep Grain Dublin Comoy's Rover bent billiard GBD square-shanked apple GBD Oxford billiard Hardcastle Royal Crown Windsor Canadian

Meant to drop that last post in another thread. Ugh. On topic - I had some Big'n'Burley and Orion's Arrow in the Mark Twain while driving to/from visit with Dad.

All nice pipes there, Pete. I'm guilty of mainly only checking the "What Are You Smoking" threads and skimming over the rest of the forums only a few times per month.

Multi-tasking is not advised for the 60+ crowd. At least. Not advised for me. Good thing I wasn't cooking dinner or tying my shoelaces, too.

Well in my case, it's as it usually is with pipe forums. The rest of the forums are vacant. The "What's in the mail today?" thread last had a post almost exactly one year ago. The What Are You Smoking threads are typically treated as a virtual smoking lounge.

The What Are You Smoking threads are typically treated as a virtual smoking lounge. Our "What's in the mail?" thread? It's quite active. There's usually 10-15 threads active on any given day around here. Some of them, I very rarely read (cigars, snuff), but they're active.

The "Recent Threads" page is your friend. Yeah, and I still screwed up. I don't think the December thread was started yet. Something I'd been doing sometimes the last few months. I forgot last night.

Sutliff Maple Walnut in an MM Cob. Something new. Pretty good. Mostly maple, didn't sense the walnut - or any "nuttiness". But first impression is usually far from complete.
