Hi all. Old Jack here from Maine. Just getting started with the pipe for probably the 10th time. Not patiently waiting for pipes and tobacco to be delivered. I am about 150 miles from a real tobacco shop and even 80 miloes from a Wal Mart. I live in a small town in the western mountains in Maine. 16 miles from canada. Population 800. So most everything is done online. While I am waiting I am eagerly reading all the posts on here. Thanks for accepting me into this forum.

Welcome to the Patch NE Texas. Sounds like you have a great place to live. I'm in a similar situation as far as a pipe tobacco shop, but only 20 miles from a Walmart. I hope that you are well supplied with firewood.

Welcome from the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Furthest North I've been in Maine has been camping up near Mt. Katahdin. It does get pretty remote up there.

Welcome. I lived briefly at Orono. I met plenty of folks from western Maine. It's rugged country.

Welcome aboard! Now we've got an Old Ed and an Old Jack. Is that a møøse in your avatar? It is a moose...that's "Molly" from a couple years back. I fed her pumpkins and she would get real close after a few weeks.

adding greets/welcome from 50miles East of Buffalo, NY. Long time in the forums/chats online. Due to birth brain issue, not techie-friendly but manage the basics. 53 total pipes, all with lucite stems, couple gifted cobs, all shapes & sizes, more freehands. hope you enjoy your stay
Ah, thinking way back, recall wandering in the original LL Bean shop, on Christmas day, before they modernized the place. Very "romantic" in a way. Clothes all over, probably more 40watt lights, near everything made right there, long before "imported" (ugh).
Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY pipe/cigar since '62 if enuf of these fine folks allow me to, 81 end of this month

Welcome! I'm new here too. I live in Boise, ID now, but was stationed at Loring AFB long ago. I'm guessing you live near Limestone or Caribou. I can't remember now how far from the border they were. With the snow up there, smoking a pipe is a fantastic pastime. I love the name you gave the moose...my dog has the same.

Welcome from Chicago! I remember camping in Maine, must be over 45 years ago now. Chilly nights even in August! Beautiful country though. I hope you enjoy being here in the Patch.
