Supposedly mine started at 0900 this morning with a phone call I did not receive.
I got a text message that this an all day affair. I have no idea what this is about or what I am supposed to do. Medical office never answers the telephone and seldom calls back. So, they are not much help. Perhaps I should drive the 50 miles to their office to find out WTF is happening?
Anyone ever hear of this before?

I had one John, video chat with Dr, asks questions, probably to get a general feel about your health. I did it with my IPHONE.

I wish I had known about it before hand. Sounds like it could be useful.

Annual Welness Exam is the artist formerly known as Yearly Physical.

Many of the concierge medical practices have an annual physical, but they have all been an in-office visit, usually after having a blood draw (of about a quart or so it seems) and a lab analysis.

The Medicare wellness check is a well intended but much abused event. This is supposed to be where the doctor determines your current health status, but in actuality most just ask you 2 or 3 questions and are done. Medicare pays them a flat rate that is so low that they don't consider it work their time.

Just a 50 mile drive each way.

Then he should hire better help.

Then he should hire better help. It's almost impossible to hire any help these days. All of my doctor's staff quit and went to work in home health. And they weren't even that great.

Then he should hire better help. Taos, you know. Workers are scarce here. Work ethic is second to family. Family issues often result in no-shows.

Medicare allows you a single AME per year. A non-complaint review of your medical condition, including blood panel, etc. Extremely valuable. Use it!

It never seems to quite happen. Always a reason. Someone's kid had the sniffles and they had to stay home from school so mom stayed home from work. Someone's dog died. A flat tire. Too much snow. Always a reason.

My doctor will not see me if I do not agree to an annual checkup, it isn’t a wellness exam per se. it is a full series of tests to establish baseline results, and as years go by track any variances, along with a conversation about anything and everything related to health that I fell like I would like to discuss.
I quite like the arrangement.
As I said before, I have known plenty of guys that are meticulous about preventive maintenance on all of their equipment an vehicles. They then have the attitude that they do not need to see a doctor until problems arise.
To each his own, but that is misplaced priorities in my book.

Completely different from the Medicare annual wellness check. For most doctors it's just an easy billing code.

My "Annual Wellness" is done annually, in the Doc's office, not online or Zoomed. One week after bloods & lab. Go a couple more visits & labs a year also just to make sure stuff is still working. My socializing seems to be Doctors, dentists, chiropractors, ophthalmologist & hearing checks.

My socializing seems to be Doctors, dentists, chiropractors, ophthalmologist & hearing checks. That is where I am at, sounds like we both have good doctors watching the gauges, looking for variances…. So far I have 15 years logged with the same doctor. When my wife worked in a gastroenterology practice, she canvassed all the doctors to see who they trusted to keep an eye on the gauges. Most all of them used this same doctor.
