I'm on my Mac laptop at the moment, and when I hit the Patch, it says "This web page is using a significant amount of energy. Your Mac may be more responsive if you close it." I dunno what's using so much resources, but it might be worth looking into, sparks.

Something similar used to happen to me with Windows Vista. Back then it appeared to be the snow animation that was slowing things down. I honestly do like the animation though.

I don't have any problems like that. A general question, how can any computer be more responsive if you close it? Oh, you mean the web page.

The snowfall sometimes makes things jumpy for me. Yeah, I get that if I scroll all the way to the bottom of a page, but I can easily live with that. It drawing inordinate power when somebody's on a laptop (with no power adapter) is more worth looking into.

Sorry I missed this. I get this with other websites too - WhatsApp web being the main one (but probably because I only use WhatsApp web on Safari (that's my work one - my personal one is using Brave Browser).
I'd recommend switching to something like Brave Browser and you won't get that message. I wonder is it something to do with the fact that we have it open for a long period of time.

Not familiar with that browser. Thanks. neither was I until a few weeks ago, but it is highly recommended. It doesn't use up much memory, but it also blocks all ads and trackers as standard. Makes browsing a more pleasant experience.

The snowfall sometimes makes things jumpy for me. Same here. but only when scrolled all the way down - scroll up a little and the jump seems to stop.

Brave sounds a lot like Opera, actually.

Did a bit of debugging on the js callstack, set breakpoints for exceptions and debugged the proboards basescript. It's a bloated dumpster fire. Pulls down a nearly 10 MB footprint, tons of broken calls and a bunch more. Heavy in memory footprint and the GET requests from the storage hosting for images throughout are slow and bloaty.

Nice digging. It's way too much like work for me to do it outside those hours.

The full site works great on my Android, very fast. But I keep it on the mobile version because it's easier to read.
