Been sampling some burley blends from L.J. Perretti. So far, I've tried #111, 333 and 52. Lotsa codgerly goodness. Using the Friday cob.

How are you liking them? A while back, I picked up a sampler of BPC, No.333, No.111, and No.52. I think 111 and 52 are toss ups for a favorite.

I like them all so far. Favorites at the moment are 333 and Cuban Mixture. Getting something a little different in the 52. Will give that another taste tonight. The flavors of all of them remind me of the OTC burleys, except that they're better.

I haven't tried Cuban Mixture, might give it a go on my next order. No.52 does have something a bit more. Reviews list it as a burly, Virginia, and Dubek oriental.

another 1/2 bowl of ODF in the Friday Savinelli. That finishes off the first tin of ODF, there will definitely be more in the future! (plus there is another tin waiting in the wings)

Peretti No.52 in the Friday cob. I'm going to wait a bit on reading reviews of these blends at TR until I decide which I like the best.

From Gatlin Buller tobacconist, Cades Cove Cavendish in a Kaywoodie Shellcraft. Slightly sweet pastry/nutty flavor. Reminds me of Boswell's Christmas Cookie.

2015 SH Syrian Limited in my Kaywoodie Shellcraft Natural oval shank Billiard. I had to look at that twice. It looks like something that old English company would have made.

Those Shellcrafts are beautiful pipes. The recent Kaywoodie thread actually reminded me that John's got this one. Haven't seen it in a little while.

When you buy 8 ounces it comes in a delightful paint can. Cuban mixture is also something special, need to get more of that.

I've got a few more that I want to sample, and those will be 1 oz. bags. Definitely getting cans of 333 and Cuban Mixture. Maybe the 52, as well. I'm liking the spicy tang from the Oriental (dubek) in that blend.

2015 SH Syrian Limited in my Kaywoodie Shellcraft Natural oval shank Billiard. I really like this one ,John, mine is stained in a dark walnut, and was a slow smoke contest pipe ,designed by Bill Taylor{I forget the year}but C.O.R.P.S. handed them out to us for a whopping sixteen dollars...some of the guys got the natural finish, but I wasn't that lucky.

I tossed and turned all I could, but I ended up here at my desk finishing a forgotten bowl of N.M.Blackberry Brandy in a Leonessa billiard...this stuff D.G.T.s like nobody's business, with no bitterness in the last few puffs, and no goop in the bottom of the pipe.
