Bargain Pipe Tobacco from Sterling Tobacco Company, in a Savinelli Estella 9004. Dark and rich, very cool smoking and almost magical in flavor...sweet, in a fermented way that doesn't overpower the top-notch leaf that fills this jar. Stewed fruit on a blend with one downside...when it's gone, it's gone! This jar comes out of hiding once or twice a year; I smoke a bowl or two, and kick myself for not giving a few "real" Sterling blends a try, then tuck it away till next time.

It's going to cost more than a month's rent to get the rest, but I'm gradually buying the rest of the collection of what they had. I wasn't willing to pay $900 per tub of the 1970's Balkan Sobranie they had, but someone bought em both! I'd rather buy vintage favorite tobaccos than pipes. The pipe is the vessel, but the tobacco is the experience. Once it's gone, it's gone.

nothing of importance done. Nan did some baking of Schwan scones, I do the cleanup. For now, tea at desk, Northwoods in LaughingBacchus meer in smoking room waiting for DGT. Soon usual snoozie then to sups
+10, sunny for now. Looks like we'll miss the huge blizzard conditions headed to the Eastern Seaboard up into NewEngland (if not there already)
Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY gots 'em, smokes 'em since '62
