I would agree that 1, 4, and 7 should be in the top 15. Not necessarily at those positions. OGD 114 is the best bourbon to make cocktails, but that doesn't put it in the top 15, to me.

Cafe con leche made with Cafe Bustello and local dairy farm milk. Delicious. I make Cafe Bustelo in a cezve, Turkish style, with ground cardamom and sugar every morning. Half the price of Mehmet Effendi Turkish Coffee but almost as good. Cafe con leche is also a favorite! I tend to make that half coffee and half milk. No espuma as my hands shake and I am in desperate need!

Stolichnaya 80 proof, neat, chilled in the refer. I prefer their Blue Label 100 proof but very hard to find.
With the coming of T-shirt weather here, spirits turn to clear. I mean, time to start drinking clear spirits.
Yes, I am enjoying the vodka with pickled okra and pickled cucumber in the traditional way.
Beluga Caviar is not, repeat not, in the program.

Hadn't figured on needing a whiskey to get to sleep tonight, but here we are, me and my whiskey.

Went to a local bar for beers and pizza. They had a pretty good band there so we stayed for a while (4 hours).
While I was there I sampled Angels Envy and Woodford Reverse bourbons.
The Woodford Reserve was great. Very smooth, with a faint butter scotch flavor. Loved it. Bought a bottle at Sams on the way home, but it doesn't have the same smoothness or flavor. The bottle at the bar was almost empty. Maybe that affected the flavor. Anyone have any insights?

Surprised that you didn't comment on the Angel's Envy. It's the smoothest I've had. Of course smoothness isn't everything or I wouldn't prefer Laphroaig.

The longer a bottle's been open, the more the whiskey changes. One thing that happens is excess alcohol, which tends to collect near the top of the bottle, evaporates. That could certainly shift the smoothness. As far as the flavor, it could also be something you were eating or had eaten shortly before.

I noticed a newly opened bottle of 4 Roses Single Barrel seemed to change in flavor from one time to the next. Today, there was only ~1 inch of Woodford Reserve left in the bottle and it was the smoothest bourbon I've ever tasted. The Angel's Envy (almost full bottle) wasn't as smooth or flavorful. Anyway, I bought a bottle of the Woodford Reserve and a bottle of 1792 Single Barrel Reserve. I guess I'll see how they do over time. Right now, my favorite is 4 Roses Single Barrel. Knob Creek Rye is #2 - for now. As far as bourbons go, this is all new to me and I'm having fun finding my favorite 3 to keep on hand.

A wee drop of Old Forester 1920. I had a bottle of that some time back and thought it quite nice. O.F. along with Old Granddad were always dependable.

Thats what they say, but if one reads the label on the bottle, it is distilled in Russia, then transported to Latvian where it made into Vodka. The way I read it.
