urbino and bonanzadriver I've emphatically and scrupulously avoided the term "man cave" in favor of "gentleman's smoking lounge." My goal was a combination of a Study (where I can do work and research), and the clubs of the early 1900's where we relax, fellowship, and find refuge away from the noise and distraction of the world. It's a place of comfort and culture. I appreciate your point of view, fair enough. My humble home office / mancave is primarily where I work most days, with the ability to smoke cigars and pipes while doing so. When my sons or one of the neighbors come over we sit back, relax have a pipe or a stick, bourbon or scotch and play a game of chess or simply converse. cheers

I'd like to have a pub-style sign made.

Oh wow. I'm envious of this. I like the pool table addition! That's brilliant.

Just wow. I'm not sure I've ever been more jealous of a project. Is there a pic of the outside? ... I'd like to have someone paint a Mail Pouch Tobacco ad or something on the roof That brings back memories from rural southern Illinois, many years ago. You've created a very fine space there.

Great work, were it me, I'd move to the barn, and rent the house out for the cash flow, but who has a wife that would fall for that???

This is my place to go for a quiet, relaxing pipeful, since The Princess does not like the smell of tobacco smoke. It's best that she keep to the house and I to the barn

The best relationships allow time for solitude. I agree with this. as long as you don’t have to give up 1/2 of your income.
