Hey, Acadian Perique has it's place, I mean it's what most of us are smoking, most of the time. Buuuut... St James Perique, though? St James Perique? Is it even a question what's better? I mean, come on, am I right?
I'm smoking GH & Co. Best Brown Flake #2 in a cob, drinking coffee, and awaiting this snowstorm that just keeps getting pushed off while all we see is rain.
It was a little play on "SJ" -- an abbreviation usually associated with the Jesuits. I was using the sectarianism reference to pit Acadian Perique against the "real" perique.

Going with the 2014 Mick McQuaid Plug in a tiny little 1970's Dr Grabow Duke hex-panel pipe. A tiny little pipe.

Haunted Bookshop in the Wednesday cob after dinner and feeding the doggos. Dinner and feeding the doggos are 2 separate things? What kind of monster are you?

C.B.Royal, in a straight bulldog, marked Ceasar. It was third prize in a slow-smoke contest I entered back in 1982.

Last weekend, I lucked into some aged tobacco blends. The other day, I opened the tin of 2010 Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake and put it in a jar. Lots of crystals and the tin note was incredible. So, I'm going to try a bowlful in a James Upshall bent billiard.

More of the English Luxury from haebar in the sandblasted Icarus lovat from fadingdaylight I love this little pipe, and I clean it scrupulously (pipecleaners through the stem & paper towel to wipe out the bowl) after every smoking session. The EL has rapidly become my new "Arcadia Mixture," and when this pouch is empty I'll probably fill it with something different (another English blend, of course) just to take a slight break so I'll better appreciate the English Luxury when I inevitably take it up again - and to help clear some shelf space so I can stock even more English Luxury, Proper English, and Old Professor

I am! This stuff's really, really good! Why did I tell my kid he could have half? Ha, I didn't know you snagged more aged blends. I've been slowly smoking some 2017 Kendal Plug from Haebar, and it's the plug version of Best Brown Flake. Really excellent smoke.

They have a rack where they stock with random stuff from the cellar. Many with 10+ years on it.

A good number of the aged tins came from a very large estate cellar that Dan bought just before the Columbus Show last summer.

We got a tour of the basement, and didn't see any more in the tin room.

So about 6 months ago, give or take, I saw mention of an aromatic on one of these forums. It is Wilke Pipe Tobacco Penut Butter and Chocolate. I was intrigued, but didn't buy then. My wife was intrigued and we finally bought some, 4oz worth. It came today, and I finished a half bowl of it in one of my older pipes. It is FANTASTIC!! I have a new favorite aromatic, and possibly even a new favorite tobacco. You can get it Here

But, it didn't take much work to break the seal. Hope the seal on the 2013 is good.
