I'm not saying it's not a hair in this case, but over the years I have definitely had numerous "Oh, is that a red hair?" moments in my C&D tins only to find on closer inspection it's a fine reddish-brown curled up "stem hair" where it's actually a shaving off a thicker tobacco stem.
