Same for me. But then you've got just ol ed , who sprinkles it on his salads. Schwan's makes salads? He got a taste for salads before animals were domesticated.

You had me until you said you refuse to smoke Latakia. (Lol) After several years, many give it up altogether. At thirty years in, I lost my taste for it five years ago, anything with more than a condiment amount of latakia started tasting exactly the same. After 40 years, I only want more Latakia, condiment or not.

Pipe smoking for ten years straight this year and I'd agree with chasingembersI started on Latakia after a brief week of trying a gooper or three. Smoked latakia quite a bit the first few years until eventually I nearly took a hiatus from it altogether. Eventually I started liking stronger latakia blends maybe once a month and they would just wax and wane for me. One week I may want a few bowls of it and then be good with it for many months. These days I do prefer it mostly in small condimental amounts with a nearly once or twice a month smoke of a solid English blend. There's also a different tangent that once we lost Syrian leaf we lost the best latakia, and that the Cyprian currently is NOT coming from Cyprus and is of fairly low grades of Oriental leaf.

Falcon is a good option if the design doesn't turn you off. Like Carey based on a re-thinking of filtering. If any deity is listening my biggest wish is that Falcon bowls were available in wood alternatives to briar (apple, cherry & especially osage orange). Here you go. If you call him he will make you a bowl out of most any wood. "Don Warren Smokingpipes Tobacco Pipes Smoking Pipes" www.dwpipes.com

It’s a myth that pipe shape has jack schit to do with anything. Just keep track of which tobacco smokes well in which pipes. This has been my experience as well.
