I'm currently smoking my way through a box of cigars that are individually wrapped in cedar sleeves. What's the point in this? They don't burn any differently than other cigars, or have any unique flavors that I can pick up on.

I take the cedar off my cigars before storing because mold can grow between the wrapper and the cedar sheath. You wouldn’t know it otherwise until you removed the cedar and who knows how many mold spores you would have in your humidor by then. If you have a cedar humidor, the cedar on the cigar isn’t really going to do anything for you.

Something I never knew about. (Partly it's that I'm not a regular cigar smoker.)
I just figured the cedar wrapping was to keep the moths out of your cigars.
(I'll see myself out.)
