Watching World War Z 2013 not filmed in Texas or New Mexico but still a great zombie apocalypse movie. Bradd Pitt does a outstanding job as the lead actor adding to his long list of better than average movies. You know that we Texans are just rooting for a zombie apocalypse. 😁 You mean like the conventions of the political parties in 2024? A non-partisan joke. No offense meant.

"Scott of the Antarctic", 1949. The whole sad story. Shooting the ponies was hard to watch.
I have a neighbor who manages a research station down there now. Since she is English she has probably seen this one. I will have to ask her when she returns here in the Spring.

I saw Oppenheimer in a theater and missed most of the dialogue. So, I am hoping to watch it again on TV with closed captioning. I sure hope they have that on the streaming service.

Friend and I were discussing westerns and he brought up Unforgiven as his favorite western. I haven't seen it in a very long time so I watched it on prime. Definitely Clint Eastwood at some of his best.

Also watched blazing saddles while I was waiting to head to my family friends houses for Thanksgiving another 5 star comedy. Sadly, a show that could never be released today, it would cause outrage. Mike Rowe had a great “That’s the way I heard it” podcast on Mel Brooks, my Google Fu is weak, but he was amazing in WWII.

Watched the 1935 movie "Werewolf of London". Somewhat corny by modern standards and lacked the style and atmosphere of later Universal Horror movies. The acting was Stagey and contrived. With Valerie Hobson, a notable lady of Brit movies.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Monarch, Legacy of Monsters with Kurt Russell (Apple TV). I liked it, but have to wait for the rest of the episodes to drop.

"Green For Danger", 1946.
Based on the 1944 detective novel of the same name by Christianna Brand. It was directed by Sidney Gilliat and stars Alastair Sim, Trevor Howard, Leo Genn, Sally Gray and Rosamund John. The film was shot at Pinewood Studios in England. Truly worth watching. Sim plays the character of Scotland Yard Inspector Cockrill with much humor and wit. Seems he pestered by V-1 Buzz bombs each time he goes outside. Only the Brits could make those weapons the source of humor. Great cast.

Mike Rowe had a great “That’s the way I heard it” podcast on Mel Brooks, my Google Fu is weak, but he was amazing in WWII. Royal jesters and fools had carte blanche and virtually anything was grist for their naughty mills. We are a bunch of humorless prigs.

A Scottish Christmas or something like that on Hallmark. Miss it if you can. Its Hallmark where hot babes are all single and can bake with no visible signs of a good job yet can live like the one percent upper class. As for the men they almost never have proper earlobes yet they can cook and the hot babe falls in love with them and they cook happily ever after.

I just watched "The Shift". I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't heard so much about it. I would have watched just to see what happens, instead of trying to interpret everything.
But it was well done. And despite the above, I really enjoyed it. Neal McDonough is amazing. He is the best bad guy ever. You hate his character before he even says a word. I hated his character in Justified, and then again in Yellowstone.
