Javier Bardem's portrayal of Anton Chigurh is exactly as I imagined him reading the book.
I read somewhere that a board of psychologists wrote a paper in one of their journals that listed movie bad guys and rated them in terms of realistic and psychopath. Chigurh won as being the most realistically rendered psychopath in the movies.
Because of course pure evil does not exist. The banality of evil is the finding that most of the horrendous killers and torturers are boring run of the mill boring people with a certain kwirks, not evil to the bone world power seeking Bond movie type bad guys.
There is a story from Richard Pryor, where he relates that when he was incarcerated he asked one of his fellow inmates, "why did you kill your father, your uncle, and your cousin?" and the murderer answered, "because that is who was home."

I would love to be a fly on the wall in a room full psychologists. And yes, pure evil does exist.

Finished watching three Dennis O'Keefe movies from the golden age of Noir. We wrote and directed two of them. T-Men, Cover Up and The Diamond Wizard. All were very good. The Diamond Wizard was produced in the UK and is excellent.
Started another Russian Tank Movie last night. "Tanks for Stalin". How they love their tank movies. This one is set in 1940 and the tank factory, east of Minsk or Pinsk (I forget which) wants to get their new T-34 prototypes to the May Day Parade in Moscow to impress Joe. They have no way to transport for reasons unclear to me so the guys and gals at the factory decide to drive them the 800 miles to Moscow. Their route is cross country as the crow flies. Being tanks, there should be no problem, right? Meanwhile, the Heinies want those tanks to study before war breaks out. A group of Nazi commandos are set to interfere. Someone sabotaged the parts truck so they must improvise, adapt and overcome. You know, that Red Army stuff. The usual NKVD jerk is assigned to them to make life even more difficult. Fun watch! This one is dubbed in English which helps me.

Edit above post. He not we, meaning Dennis O'Keefe, wrote and directed. I had nothing to do with these productions.

The Russians aren't too proud of their tanks now. My friends fathers were tankers and they told me exactly how to destroy a tank. Glad I never had to try it though. Ukrainians took out at least 3 of the Russian super tanks this past week.

Ukrainians took out at least 3 of the Russian super tanks this past week. The movie was made a few years ago. I am glad for the Ukrainians and hope for their victory over Putin and his stooges. That is all I want to discuss on the current situation as this is not the place for that.

It is surprising how short the rebuild interval was for most WW2 tank engines and drive-trains. Very short. Especially some of the German machines. Modern tanks are more durable, but not like an automobile.

I watched “Old Henry” again last night for the third time. Noticed a couple of small flaws, but I still think it is a great Western.

"Old Henry" was well done. Tim Blake Nelson is always good in Westerns.

Watched the first "Jack Reacher" movie. I am not a fan of Tom Cruise but he did a good job in that role. Will watch the sequel tonight.
