These are all great! You may become famous. "Silver" and "Pete" seem to be taken. What will you call your line of pipes? Chonosilpete?

Pipes #44, 45, 46 are finished, and the workshop is closed for the Holidays. Took a couple pics before they went into the guys' gift bags. Thanks for looking!

Thanks, Charlie! I hope they like them. I do have a couple back-ups if they want to trade. Hope the ankle doesn't hamper your Christmas activities!

If somebody doesn't want that bottom one, I'll take it (unless you already got me something, of course). Some really nice grain on it.

Thanks, Charlie! I hope they like them. I do have a couple back-ups if they want to trade. Hope the ankle doesn't hamper your Christmas activities! Not the ankle but the knee...Fortunately I have a bed that elevates in quite a few ways, and that has helped. Up in the Navajo nation and Hopi nation come Tuesday, fortunate to have 4 days off.

Thanks, Herb. I'm glad you're enjoying the Silver Axe! The guys liked their pipes, too. I hope they smoke well for them, and your's, as well. I enjoyed making them.

With the holidays mostly behind us (although we still have the house decorated), it's time to plan the next couple pipes to make. The next pipe will be my second effort at a Canadian. The first one was an epic failure. While drilling the airway in the shank, the bit started to walk and the result was disastrous. I'll be using the block shown below. It'll end up about 5 3/4" long, so group 4-ish is what I'm thinking. I think this will be #47.

Looks like you might get some nice crossgrain on the shank.

Very cool! A little while back I saw a Castello 55 for sale and I thought of you. Then I was pondering what a 55 with a long shank would look like and here you are making Canadians. Great work!

Turned out really nice, Pete. I know you've said you sometimes dread traditional shapes because everything has to be just so, but it seems like you did a very nice job with this one. Everything straight and round and symmetrical and all that. What's the weight on it?
