Another well done by a growing artisan. This from one who prefers free-forms in general

I like it, Pete...a welcome change from the predictable Canadian pipe shapes. It is a Detroidian, not available in Canada. Doesn't sound weird at all!

Turned out really nice, Pete. I know you've said you sometimes dread traditional shapes because everything has to be just so, but it seems like you did a very nice job with this one. Everything straight and round and symmetrical and all that. What's the weight on it? Thanks, urb. Yeah, traditional shapes come with a lot of rules, and I broke the bowl height to shank length ratio rule on this one. I think the bowl shape and heel radius is okay, though. It weighs 38 grams. I'll be able to clench it.

Thanks, Ted! Started out with an absolute monstrosity. So, I couldn't make it uglier. I've got a couple more that I can rework. A couple others are beyond saving.

It does look like you still had plenty of material to work with on that one. The egg shape with gentle ridges that you came up with looks nice. Did you position them where you grip? I have a meerschaum with ridges like that and it’s amazingly comfortable to hold.

To me, not ugly at all, have several freehands somewhat similar, like large bowl capacity, can grip comfortable. Don't sell youself short young man!

And yet the ridges form a good surface to wrap a finger around the bowl. I like that feature. Well done, Pete! 👍
