Popped my tin of GLP Stonehenge Flake that arrived today. Fresh in the tin it looks and smells identical to Louisiana Perique Flake by Gawith Hoggarth. The 2001 Stonehenge I smoked last summer was pitch black flakes with more floral essence rather than a hay/bready/malty smell im getting from this fresh tin. Will smoke some after lunch, but up front, it really looks the part of Louisiana Perique Flake...

1914 Cased Ben Wade Apple that looks to be in great condition. At some point I'll put up some photographs. Still waiting for the Stonehenge flake to show up. Also ordered two tins of something that I've been watching for for awhile, but can't reveal what because the shipment was small, and others have been waiting for it to show up as well.

Received these in the mail today. The tamper is made by a PSF member named Derrick (Snake). His tampers are second to none, IMO. If you don't own one, you should, IMO.

Just ordered a sealed tub of Heine's Blend from Pipestud. Late 70's or early 80's production. Should be interesting.

Today I received a NOS Breezewood apple. Breezewood pipes were made in North Carolina out of mountain laurel during WWII.
Items currently on the way are a sealed tub of Friends from the 1970s and a sealed tub of Model from the 1990s I picked up from Pipestud. They will join my 1970s tub of Rum and Maple and my small stash of Edgeworth Sliced in my tobacco cabinet for now. If I should ever move to a civilized area that actually has other pipe smokers, I plan on having a tin opening party, pop them all open and watch as everyone smokes themselves into nicotine induced comas.
Finally, and best of all, a Ser Jacopo Picta Van Gogh Rusticated #13 that SPC had in their estate pipes section. Suppose to be here tomorrow. It devoured my PAD nest egg but I had to have it.
Just for the record, this will be my last post in this thread for about a month. LOL!

A few days ago, I received an e-mail from a fellow who wanted to thank me for my posts and reviews over the years, and also wanted to send me a couple of tobacco I had not tried. Well, it was more than a couple. What a generous man! I called him and was delighted to find that he's a fun person to talk with as well. Hard to beat all of that!

So, my fanaticism of Samuel Gawith's Best Brown Flake definitely got the better of me and I ordered 16 tins of it (when P&C had their 25% off sale a little while back). (I actually received it a week ago, but am just getting round to jarring it up tonight.) I should be good for a while on this one. Here is a picture for proof:

In transit is a Rattray's blend assortment. 100 gram tins of: Dark Fragrant Macbeth Dark Virginia 50 gram tin: Wallace Flake
An unknown Freehand Estate that looks very Nording
and 2oz of the new Lane: Vanilla Black Cavendish. In 2 weeks this new bulk has risen to the mid-70's on the sale chart. Doesn't surprise me as it is very good.
