I think a cobbler would look well in my collection.

Just placed an order for a new MM Cob Iโve had my eyes on for a while. Itโs was on sale for $21.60 on Smokingpipes......not $36.00 like sold on eBay!! This Cob comes with a high quality acrylic stem๐๐๐ The picture just taken and cropped from SP website. Also, I ordered 3 pouches of the new release of Amphora Burley.....nope I need not purchase any tobacco, however this one kept whispering in my ear....lol. Missouri Meerschaum: Cornell & Diehl Charles Towne Cobbler Very nice pipe Ted! The acrylic stem alone would be worth the price!

Got my orders Wednesday. Usually SP gets my stuff to me in 2 days (even up here) but apparently there was a hiccup at USPS end.
Tried the Cobbler stem on several standard shank MM cobs and it does not interchange with any but the Freehand. It does fit the Cobbits.

These were in the mail and arrived at the start of the week. Just now getting to them. Two tins of each and excited to try the Bengal Slices White. I also grabbed a couple pouches of John Bull and P&C threw in two more pouches as a free gift.

Just now tried th stem of the Charles Towne Cobbler, it fit on all of my MM Country Gentleman Pipes. Even the MM Morgan Design Cob Poker Pipe. Wonโt fit the smaller shanked MM Cobs.
PS I just tried the stem from the Charles Towne Cobbler, it also fits the shank of my MM General pipe that had the Danish stem.

A no go on my Generals, Spool, Great Dane, CG's, Diplomats. As regards the Morgan, even a regular MM stem won't fit it. I don't note this to debate, but correct misinformation.

I double checked the fittings on the above Cobs I mentioned. No issue fitting the stem tightly on any of the Cobs I tried it on. The stem wedges in comfortably on my Dagner Design Cob Poker Pipe with a slight push. True the Morgan Poker has an odd size stem size. Just tried my Forever stem and it fits my MM Morgan Poker Pipe tight.
PS The end of the acrylic stem on my Charles Towne Cobbler is slightly tapered. Might be the reason mine fits.

As we are at two opposite and different results and for the sake of clarity, it is more accurate to say the Cobbler stem may or may not fit others existing cobs.

Two and a half tubs of EGR (a full one from at least 15 years ago and a half one from at least 10 years ago, plus a newer one), a tin each of JC Double Pressed Va. and Double Pressed Kentucky, a pouch of Amphora Burley and two tins of Wessex Burley Slices.

I need to order and try some of that double pressed stuff. Sounds interesting.

Nice looking meer, Endel...I seem to rarely smoke my meers...they are sitting there collecting dust...I enjoy smoking them, just seems like a hassle to get it out and be careful I don't bump/drop it. Just psych's me out, I guess.

I like smoking my meer as kind of a change of pace, and haven't really babied it at all. I've had it for some 30 years, and it has held up fine. Though I did go some time where I would only occasionally smoke pipes during the winter months. And my pipe is a pretty basic pipe. I like the simple carving on it, but wouldn't class is as an 'artisan' pipe by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe that is why I'm a little at more ease knocking it around a bit.

Got my new Cramp pipe yesterday. Still trying to decide what to have in it first. Might take Jason's suggestion and try an English or Balkan. Got some other goodies in this week and will post later, the Cramp pipe was the highlight of the week.

Cramptholomew should make his own blend which he ships with his pipes. then you know what to smoke first.

Just got home from an excellent few days at camp and found the mailbox overflowing with treasure.
Two pounds of some pretty damn righteous jerky, a few Peterson blends and some Amphora Burley. Also got books one and two of this Gene Wolfe series that is supposedly pretty great.
I'd say I'm all set for a nice holiday weekend.

Got a sample of some War Horse Bar from the 60's coming...supposed to be the nic hit of the century...the bar looks like a brick...it is being rehydrated before it is cut and sent out to a select few to sample. Many thanks to Ashdigger...he is on a different forum, but a super guy...sort of like a Scrooge, but no body can replace Scrooge or even come close, but Ashdigger runs a close second.
