thank you, lol
You're most welcome. Actually, William Wallace had his tartan tattooed on his scrotum, but Mel Gibson wasn't into historical correctness that much, so... It's not true. I just made it up.
that certainly would be dedication. i could see a scot doing that, but would think they'd tattoo a saltire....

Well, I didn't have a remission after all. I jarred up the last batch I received, and started jonesin' for new bags, and had a relapse. Also got a few old issues of Pipes and tobacco magaxines. The bags on the bottom are Arango Balkan Supreme. The tins of Pirate Lake and SOTE flake i hadn't tried. Now I have, and I feel the need to load up on them. Oh well, so many tobaccos, so little time (and cash).

A saltire would probably be better, Easier to tattoo and easier to recognize in battle. That's one of the uncountable things I like about pipe smoking. You never know where it'll take you. From beautiful pipes and great tobaccos to, er... scrotal heraldy.

That's a favourite of mine, but unfortunately it's not available in Denmark, so I buy it from a German web shop, and at two-thirds of what it would have cost me here.

A 100 grs US tin dated May 2015, bought at the pipe show. In Denmark, we can only get it in 50 grs tins.

How come it's so hard to get..? As far as I know, it hasn't gone the way of McClelland and Dunhill. The German web shop Esterval's Pipe house has plenty and no limitations. Would it be too expensive to order it from Germany..? It'll be $15 a tin and the shipping'll be $47 for up to 5 kgs. Does sound a bit steep. And then comes the US Customs...

We can get it by the pound and you can't get it by half kg? It is good, and I speak as a lataholic. Can you get C&D tobac in Denmark? They do have great stuff.

US Customs is cheap for pipe tobacco. When I last checked a year ago before bringing some tins home with me from Germany, it was $2.82 per pound (~450gm).

We have fixed tobacco prices set by the government and bulk selling is not allowed. Unfortunately no US tobaccos are available in Denmark, or Europe as far as I know. There's a Swiss company selling US tobaccos, but Switzerland is not a member of the EU. Buying from them would be the same as buying from the US what regards customs. The price you'd have to pay would be prohibitive.

If you like 'Old Dark Fired', you might like HH's 'Bold Kentucky' as well. It's heady stuff.

I actually placed a little order from 4 Noggins last night. 2 oz. - Granger 2 oz. - John Patton Storm Front 2 oz. - John Patton Dark Horse 2 oz. - Cube Cut Burley 2 oz. - Stoved VA 2 oz. - Red VA Cavendish 2 oz. - Turkish Izmir I want to get a feel for what some of these blenders taste like, and maybe toy with my cube mixture a bit. It's fun... I'm bored. Great thread, Russ. Thanks for starting this up. This may be necroposting, but I searched for posts about John Patton tobacco blends and yours is the only one that came up. How do you like these tobaccos? I ordered a lot of pipe stuff from Ebay and the seller threw in five 2 oz. samples of some John Patton blends. I was very pleased about the gift, especially after reading the reviews on TobaccoReviews.com. Jarred them all up last night.

Oh, well; they can always raise the money by raising the tax on tobacco. I forgot to mention that the 'HH' stands for Harald Halberg, who founded the Mac Baren company back in 1887.
