Picked up a tin of Tilbury today from the local B&M. $20 bones because of the damn taxes but still worth it imo.

I got weak. Good stuff in a pipe but perhaps even better trade currency in a couple years:

That is right in my wheelhouse. Love that pipe. You are about to have three fun arrivals, maybe more if P&C ships your items in multiple lots.

Thanks Don, looking forward to getting it...I did get an update since I posted that, my order placed at P&C on the 20th shipped today. I'm still not bellayching though, I had free shipping, and they had gifted me a $20.00 credit on the books a couple months ago that I finally used, so I got that tobacco for $90.00.

That's great, Charlie. I have a $20 coupon from P&C I need to burn as well. Maybe another week or two to let them catch up.

After getting the Lumberman when I went to work last night, I was amazed that it looked nicer than the pictures, and performed even better than that. The bowl was carbonized, the drilling spot on, and the draw was perfect for my liking. I loaded it up with daughters and Ryan Two Timer (toasted burley blend), and it provided a cool, clean, long lasting smoke...setting it down for a couple minutes required no re-light...it just took off without skipping a beat and the briar stayed cool. I think that there is something to Ashton's proprietary oil curing process. I jumped online today, and the Canadian sister to the Lumberman was up for sale, so I jumped on it...the dimensions pretty much mirror that of the lumberman...obviously a different stem.

Those pipes, Charlie, look fantastic. I find Canadian, Lumberman, and Lovat (even though shorter) shapes to be excellent for sure. The extra briar does a good job grabbing moisture from the smoke on the way in and they can clear a gurgle with a flick of the wrist. Nicely chosen, sir, nicely chosen.

When I inboxed it at work last night, a young guy told me I went "gangster"... both of these pipes were about half the price of many of the Ashton's on PM... I had to jump on them. We had a new guy attend our pipe club meeting the other day, he is "Pipemaster" on YouTube....when I showed everyone my pipe that was in transit, he said that he had planned on buying that on the previous Wednesday, but I bought it before he got paid...... small world! Who did your pipe comisssions? I look forward to seeing them.... I hope they have the Gingham stem treatment...😄

Sounds like you jumped the gun, John. www.tobaccoreviews.com/blend/10911/cornell-diehl-king-cake Jim gives all three blends 3 stars...must be good stuff. I didn't even realize that this (King Cake) was a cellar series release...I think that their aging recommendations are a lot of hype, but I like believing it.

Today two estates came in: One particular nice Brebbia Navy Oom Paul and a strange looking Lorenzo that will go into the "selling basket". I have been on an Oom Paul spree recently...

Received all five tins of Tilsbury and Margate but only two of Dorchester. Card was billed accordingly, no complaints. Fast shipping and good service.
