Like clockwork this season, large grey rats have come to nest around my tomatoes in my backyard to feast on the very best of the tomatoes that they can reach. This morning I brewed up a very strong batch of nicotine tea from about a pound of organic mahogany and orange Virginia tobacco stems and scraps so I could make what I like to call "Surprise! peanutbutter balls" The nicotine tea is so concentrated that it nearly looks as black as coffee, and the little bastards won't even know what hit 'em! For good measure, I also impregnated some club crackers to place about the backyard. For anyone wondering, there's no risk of cats or dogs, or even squirrels getting to these as my yard is fenced off tightly and the only things getting in are rats and mice.
I'm smoking some Sutliff VA Perique in a Falcon with rustic Algiers bowl while giving them some time to get over to the peanut butter dollops in peace. My daughter and I were out there a little bit ago and already saw the rat out rustling about in my compost pile area and no food scraps are out there. They strictly come to my yard to post up for ripening tomato season.

Those suckers can really eat some weight, too! In one night they can easily eat several pounds of tomatoes by just eating the bottom half of the tomato off the vines if you let them keep at it.

Nicotine peanut butter? I'm in!!
More HBS while waiting on more mud to dry. Then more HBS while waiting on texture to dry, again waiting for primer to dry. After I paint I can go home.
The handy dandy blow dryer speeds up the whole process but HR has been complaining about people not working their 8 hours. I'm salary and I come to work to work and get my job done. They moved everyone to hourly because so many were taking advantage of it. I'll remain on salary, which sucks cause I average 45 or more hours a week. That OT would have been nice.
So now they can pay me to smoke my pipe while I wait on things to dry.

Smoking GH Kendal Dark in a small calabash. Yesterday was a long day helping my stepson handle his first experience as a new homeowner. I don’t think he really understood what I meant when I told him that it doesn’t matter how nice of a home you buy, there will be plenty of small projects to do and then plenty of maintenance to follow. I think he is starting to understand now.
