C&D Briar Fox back to back to back in this same cob w/ Forever stem. Getting ready to clean up the dehydrator, make some fresh and cooked salsa, and make some tomato paste. Might not all get done this afternoon but first priority is salsa. Seems I had some terrible lighting in this photo but you get the idea. There are a couple Marianna's Peace pink beefsteaks (pipe is resting against one), some San Marzano paste tomatoes (60 more on a shelf in the kitchen, wife is about to kill me if those don't move), Livingston Gold Ball in the bottom right, the larger yellow were supposed to be Striped German, but I found out only as the fruit all set and started to ripen that the seed company totally hosed me on Striped German, Big Rainbow, AND Hillbilly tomato seed. What I got was these amalgamation of a mealy yellow globe-ish tomato with slight green shoulders. I will never buy any seedstock from True Leaf Market ever again. Numerous customers were waiting on these big three and they sold bogus mixed or badly crossed seed. I will only stick with Seed Saver's Exchange, and Victory Seed from now on. Guys I know who care about their seedstock. Many other types to come likely by August 15th which is the date I consider peak point of the season and those will be true to type since they came from the two mentioned reputable seedbanks. 20% off a seed order with True Leaf Market was too good to be true and this is the third time they've either scammed me or carelessly sold the wrong seed.
I'll likely be smoking Briar Fox all day long.
Also a Burpee Big Boy or two in there, a mixup beefsteak off the right, and five Early Girls.
Oh yeah, and the super rat has eaten all of the nicotine treats I put out and has continued to jauntily stride about the yard eating more tomatoes as if it only put more pep in his step.

Smoking Carter Hall in a calabash. I have been so busy that I’ve only been squeezing a pipe in here and there as possible. Carter Hall really works great for smokes like that.

Comoy's Cask #9/ Granger mix, in my Boswell Dublin, fresh coffee on the side. If, like me, you find Cask #9 to be a good leaf, but too heavily sweetened, you might try adding a mellow, nutty burley to it. I'm using my last bit of Granger in this manner, and finding it to be a marriage made in heaven, Y.M.M.V.

Tomorrow is my birthday so I decided I'd open a couple tins. Will be opening a 1999 tin of McClelland #12 and a 2014-15 tin of Solani Aged Burley Flake. Smoking my Ardor's in bed and finding a movie to watch.
