Was wondering if anyone had any comoy#7 they'd be willing to part with. I've been nursing my last 2oz for a while. If you look up Cubish Pipers you will see we are a husband wife smoker couple that has extreme tad and pad. We are also lamenting not having the money to buy that 70s fireside Mac Baren London Blend on pipestud. Would love to know who bought it as we'd love to review all the versions of that tobacco as we've had most of the versions except my birth era from Fireside. We don't chase unicorns, but sadly both of these are. Happy Smokes everyone.

Hi Eric and Hannah, welcome to the forum. I'm sure there may be people who can help you out. However, as Trailboss shared, we do have a rule where we require at least 100 posts before buying/selling/trading can begin. You'll see another section on the forum open up where you can post your requests.
This is for a number of reasons, but it also keeps things fair, as everyone else has had to wait.
Stay with us and join in the discussions and you'll hit 100 posts in no time.

I shall comply admins, sorry. Per the UK website recommendation, a fellow piper in the UK said they are not a trustworthy site. And they don't directly mail to the US. Estervals is dependable but sadly has none. Luxury Bullseye Flake is good, but not the same as #7.I don't know if it's the topping or the proportions or the regions the Virginias came from. Comoy #7 is slightly sweeter but needs more age.I posses my bodyweight in LBF but been nursing a 2 oz jar of it. Number 4 is yummy as well. If you look up Cubish Pipers on YouTube. You'll see our pipe cabinet video. You know I'm not hurting for tobacco.

I read my response Scott W. I have a tendency to short text and it makes me sound like an arse. That wasn't my intention. Your info was indeed helpful. When I started looking again I realized that I missed the boat. It's the reason I intentionally avoid McClelland tobaccos. Falling in love with a blend that I have to fight someone over on pipestud is not my idea of a good time. I guess I'm frustrated because there was no real notice or indicators that Comoy tobaccos were leaving. A gentleman at SP told me there is negotiating currently going on about Comoy in general. But not to hold my breath. If I found #4 or #7, I'd buy a pound or 2 and with the cellar we have, probably be set on those. That UK site has more user complaints than purchases so I'm just screwed I suppose. And again, thank you for the comments, wasnt trying to be snarky.

To add to this angst, and someone verify this for me I'm not 100%, we found out that Comoy's tobacco is done. Whatever you're seeing in stock in the UK or US for that matter is leftover stock.

From the link that I posted earlier:
“ Well here is a response direct from the importer. Pipesmag is wrong again.
This was asked through the contact form of Ventura cigar, the importer of Comoy.
“Comoy’s tobacco has been out of stock at all retailers, specifically Cask #4 and #7. Do you know what’s going on with Comoy? Is the tobacco coming back? Have they ceased production? Please let me know. Thank you”
And got this reply
Hello, G******
I am responding to your online query referenced below.
You are correct, Comoy’s has ceased production. They made great products for us, and will be missed in the marketplace.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you!
~C****”

I have a tin of #11 that I have put off opening for 7 years. The seal has blown up and pushed the lid off. Do y'all think it is still good?

Two of those tin options are in stock, only a total of 4 whopping tins available. P&C regularly sell tobaccos that have been out of production for years. They were recently (maybe they still are!) selling Lane's Medal of Valor tins for still only $8.99 or something like that. This was just a couple months ago even though Lane stopped production on those like three years ago. Many of these warehouses will have stock that lasts for years past production.
That being said, we still don't have a 100% Comoy's is out of production until they're delisted from the retailers and we see some form of announcement. But that was the email chain I recall when I found out about them.

Their shipping prices are over the top, I think it might be a Maryland thing… signature required.

I don't want to discover I love a blend I can't get with reasonable ease. There are plenty of blends that are readily available. Hang around the Patch a while. Some of that #7 might be available.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to snag a couple of KG packages of No. 7 from tobaccopipes for $60 each. I'm not sure if it was priced wrong or what. But after my 3rd one the price jumped to $125.
LBF is close, but not quite Comoys. To me the No. 7 is more smooth and creamy. Now that both of mine have a few years on them, I need to do a side by side comparison. Fresh LBF always has a sharpness to me. I'm hoping a few years helped smooth that out a bit.

People swear they taste different but... this is also a positive as one can forget about 7 and pacify themselves by smoking enough LBF. I've missed out getting any LBF the past few years myself and now that one also seems to have jumped quite a bit in price when it can be found in stock.

Maybe it's casing that stings the way it does. It's not bad, or unsmokable, I like the stuff. If I had to compare, it would be like Mild Cheddar VS Sharp Cheddar.

I started this thread and have been so busy catering it seems to have blown up since then. I confirmed about 8 months ago that this tobacco was done. Little known fact that Comoys is in between being purchased but no confirmation that the tobacco will resume. #7 and #4 were so cheap originally in bulk , it never even occurred to me it might disappear. I'm sitting on about 24 oz of LBF. I've found that I'm a coin whore. I never rub out flakes and I find the convenience of the folded coins to be excellent. If you watch our YouTube videos. You'll see we work a lot. So my responses will be random until things slow down. All of the sites overseas are out. Or shady. Maybe someone on pipestud will unload some tins of it. Thanks for all the replies

Keep an eye on Tinbids, a few weeks ago there was a Comoys on there, but I cannot recall what number the blend was. I checked my cellar, all I have by that brand is #11, British strength. Edit: found the tin, but it wasn’t #7. tinbids.com/auction/2810/

Thank for the tin bids link. I'm a pipestud fan but another option is always welcome. Thank you very much.
