2017 Brighton in my Kaywoodie Connoisseur Lovat. Had an interesting time at my wife’s 40th high school reunion in the Detroit area last night. Unfortunately, not much pipe time. I had one in the car driving over there yesterday afternoon. I didn’t feel like stepping outside at the reunion for a pipe and it was late when we got back to my mother-in-law's house. So, the next pipe was on the drive home this morning.

War Horse Bar in a calabash. I opened this tin in March, first time trying it and I thought it was really harsh and had a chemical smell/taste. I jarred it and forgot about it until today when I was going through my jars to change things up a little. The jar time did it justice, I’m enjoying it now.

The last tin I smoked of War Horse Bar, I had been suggested by a fellow pipe smoker to mix it with brown pigtail (Happy Brown Bogie) to mellow/smooth the flavor and add extra oomph. It was delicious that way too, you may want to give that a try if you've got the brown pigtail on hand. I think I was mixing about 1/3 Brown Bogie to the rest War Horse.

Not much of a shade tree blender, but that sounds like one that would work. Still not smoking, sore throat from a 10 month old plague.

It does still have a harsh edge and I was thinking about what I could blend it with to smooth it a little. I do have Brown Bogie and I’m going to try it next smoke.
