The forecast for the next several days is 100°, which isn’t bad since our lows are in the 75° range.
Makes a huge difference when things cool off, when you walk out at 8AM and the temp is at the century mark, it is relentless. 82° now at 10:00, nice out on the patio.

Deere and I made a trip to town together. Went on a lunch date before getting a new TV to replace the one that died a few weeks back had a Vizio but the LG had a better picture this time so Sam's Club special. Now headed to drop off some of Little Guy's stuff to a friend of mines wife's day care. Then head home to unmount old TV off wall and hang now one.

We bought an LG, great picture and Costco’s discount equaled the extended warranty, pretty happy with it. LG makes great TV’s but do your homework on appliances.

I've been in the hunt for another English pipe and have a bid on a '70s metal logo BBB. It's a bent shape with a smooth, deep reddish brown finish. What's interesting about this pipe is that it's not a bent billiard, but a bent pot with a deep, wide bowl. The auction closes tomorrow night at this time and, if I get outbid, I won't chase after it. We'll see. Got it! And for a good price, too. The pipe is a '70s BBB "Freestyle 751" bent pot with the metal stem logo that's been barely smoked and is in near mint condition. Length: 5 7/16" Bowl Height: 1 3/4" Inside Bowl Diameter: 7/8" Weight: 1.55 oz. Very nice score, Russ! Enjoy! Thanks, Pete. I need to research this line of pipes. I've never heard of it nor have I ever seen this shape before. Very unique, I think.

A nice weekend here. Took the boys for a nice long walk y’day afternoon and tried to make our way back thru the north field. Geez! The weeds are 4-5’ high and Eli and I had to struggle. Jack disappeared. Later I found out he had gone back to the road and was home before us. No fool him!

The winds are picking up and the sky has that greenish grey tint. Looks like we could get hit with another hail storm, that would make twice in one day. A typical day in the gulf coast for sure!

I checked with Pipe Logos & Markings and there's a BBB Freestyle shown, a bent apple, finished in the same color. It looks like the color is part of the Freestyle line.

![oldcdgr](//storage.forums.net/6447321/images/juvLHSbPyjgJlrDFxGym.gif) Took wife for Cataract surgery very early this morning, went well, now they only do one eye at a time. When I had it done they did both eyes, going early on tommorow for a checky, checky!

A quick note to say hi and I’m doing fine. I’ve just been super busy and haven’t had forum time. This past weekend, at the 75th annual IAPSC World Pipe Smoking Contest in Flint, MI, I took 3rd place with a time of 1 hr 14 min 48 sec. 😎

Well, the kidney stone saga continues. I'm not in pain, but I am a bit sore. My nurse at the VA clinic got a little angry with me because I went to urgent care on Sunday instead of going to an ER. She explained that an urgent care facility isn't equipped to do an ultrasound and that's what I need as part of getting this treated. So, I'm going to one of the local hospital's satellite ER here in town this afternoon and take it from there.

The nurse was angry at you for not knowing what equipment different kinds of medical facilities have on hand? Yeah, she originally told me to go to an ER, but went to urgent care instead. I didn't know the difference between urgent care and an ER and she was miffed because I didn't follow her advice on going straight to an ER. But she's a good nurse, means well, and has been working with me for years so I'll let her slide. She just wants the right treatment for me.

This past weekend, at the 75th annual IAPSC World Pipe Smoking Contest in Flint, MI, I took 3rd place with a time of 1 hr 14 min 48 sec. 😎 Well done. I have been meaning to compete one day. On my own I have been able to reach 45 minutes reliably, and with focused effort an hour. It is no simple thing. I have to admit my timed smokes have not been as much fun. All that puffing management and tamping management. The difference between running to get to the ice cream man before he drives to the next block, and running track. But I do want to compete just to see what it would be like. I probably would not win, but I may do rather well. ![:)](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Urgent Care clinics are good for stitching a wound, treating a mild infection and not much else.
