I fell a week ago Friday and hit my elbow on the brick planter. It felt better yesterday and I did a lot of raking and sweeping and mowed the acre. Hurt badly last night and very swollen this morning. No (new) breaks. Maybe a clot. Clots are no good. Maybe it's "just" cellulitis?

If anyone PM's me I will let them know, I just ask that my name and this thread not be mentioned...it is a relatively small community, and I really don't want to deal with a public Sh#*tstorm. Sorry to learn what outfit it is. I have dealt with them and was VERY pleased with their service, communication, price, and professionalism. I hate to see them hurt b/c one of their guys is not pulling his weight. A suggestion: if you use them specify NOT to have your work sent to that particular guy. The boss will get the idea soon enough. Even better— maybe Charlie sends pics to the boss and spells out his complaint, as he did for us. That would do us ALL a favor. It was the boss and owner that did the work and communicated with me. I get what you guys are saying, but I don’t care to continue any further with it, just cut my losses and move on. I have good reasons for not doing so, I would just rather move on. To be sure in my personal acquaintances I will readily share my opinion, a public forum can often just make matters worse.

Yeah, but still not good. Do you suppose that pin inside your ulna might have something to do with the pain now? It's been in there 52 years this week and hasn't bothered me before. It's actually swelling in the elbow bursa that's causing the problem. Just waiting to be released. I just bruised the muscle badly and I will have to let it rest.

OK, Charlie— that’s even WORSE news. I’ll stand down, considerably chagrined.

After spending all day yesterday with the arm, they decided they couldn't do anything about it. Putting Voltaren on it and it's a little better today. Had 2.3 inches of rain yesterday and at 3 more inches forecast this week. Carpenter showed up early with a crew and have the back porch almost finished. Still going to pour new concrete steps this week.

That Voltaren is kind of amazing stuff. A family friend who's plagued by arthritis told me about it and gave me a tube last year. I won't say it makes my creaky joints pain-free, but it helps a bit, and that's something. I don't know how something rubbed on the skin can make old bones feel better, but I'm not complaining.

Should have just had Chip and Joanna come over from Waco and fixed the house up before you moved in, Ron.😉 Glad your elbow is getting some measure of relief.

We tried to get the couple from Laurel Mississippi but they were busy.

Were waiting on still another blizzard, to hit us early t’row morning. Forecast 7” but I’m betting it misses us, mostly anyway. The NW of the state might not be so lucky. They may get as much as 30”. My cuz, due north of me 100 miles expects 20”.

Sorry for your loss, and the rest of the family's, Bob. There's a lot of random tragedy in the world. No sense trying to make sense of any of it. It just happens.

The family must be heartbroken. From the perspective of a grandfather, it would be quite a blow that would plague me to my grave...I had a "widowmaker" ride once as a teenager, and horsemanship lost it's luster.

At least Jack was doing what he loved. It’s a perfect end, I suppose, for a horseman. But he was so young, so good.

Sorry to hear about this. The good ones seem to go young. I've had good luck on expensive horses when I was that age. It was the cheap trail rentals that tried to kill me. Sometimes we forget that every family has their tragedies. RIP. 🙏

On this day, watching the news, I am so proud of my 6th great grandfather who led the Schenectady massacre in 1690.

Ronv69 I've never been a fan of Dewalt tools. My last boss (here) is a Dewalt fan boy. They could slap their name on anything and he would buy it. Makitas are great and that's the only circular saw I use. I've tried different ones, but the Makita just feels like home. I used a lot of Milwaukees when I was in AZ and I like the feel of them. The Fuel line is also brushless, so hopefully they last a while. I'll report back with my review on my next job. I hate to retire the Ryobis. People can say what they want, but I used and abused the hell out of mine for years. If the impact would hold a bit straight, I would still be using it. But when you're screwing drywall and the bit slips out and goes theough the drywall, it makes ya mad. It's also nice when you're holding a board and a star head slips out and goes straight through your finger tip. Now I need more batteries. That's the worst part about switching brands. Maybe when my next tools go out I'll be able to find a deal again. The Ryobis used to be great, 20 years ago. I think that Dewalt and Ryobi have moved their production to China, but they haven't gotten the quality control under control. The problem with Makita is they don't have big advertising promotions and such, and you only get to buy their stuff once. DeWalt is Mexico. I used to trust Milwaukee, but have had bad luck with their more recent production. Makita is great. I have a Dewalt cordless drill that has been awesome for me so far. I also have one of their orbital sanders and a drywall gun. Both have been good. My bench top tools are all Ryobi and Skill. All have been good. My jigsaw is Porter Cable. If I was in the market for a circular saw, belt sander or router, PC would be my first choice, hands down.

CZ makes good stuff but somewhere along the chain they lost their judgment on this one. Easily remedied.
