An old fashioned made with Whack Daniels. This is truly the whiskey to use in a mixed drink, isn't it?

Outclassed again. This was the first bottle I bought of Jack I believe since... 2011? I bought it only for making whiskey sours and old fashions. I had to think for a minute and realized I've never once seen my grandpa own a bottle of Jack Daniels, but he also calls Basil Hayden's "women's whiskey."

An Old Fashioned, but made with Peychaud’s bitters. Pretty good. Only bitters I buy. Glad it was good. I've just started tinkering with cocktails - not quite a year ago. I bought what some were calling the "Holy Trinity". Angostura, Peychaud's and Regans Orange bitters No. 6 I may have to substitute Peychaud's for Angostura in a few other drinks to see how it tastes.

But I think I picked up some Peychaud's a year or two back, probably to make a Sazerac. What do you use Regans Orange for?

I use Peychauds in my Manhattan's instead of Angosturas, just a different taste that I like. Angostura is traditional for the drink.

Bulliet rye on the side.
