Barbacoa beef tacos today...premade version from Costco, not bad, but a bit sweet for me. Fortunately, I have some spicy jalapenos that mitigated that.

That leaves the cauliflower......... I spoke with the kitchen customer service rep and she sez that's what'll be on my plate. Good for breakfast, too.

No lunch but a trip to San Luis, Colorado and Mrs. Rios Thai Kitchen. Roast Duck in Ginger Sauce with Thai Jasmine rice, Tom Kha Soup with vegetables and their own Lime Soda. I could have had a shot of Gin added since I was not driving. Worth being hungry all day in anticipation for this meal.

Made a huge pot of cabbage beef soup last night and it's already gone. The cost to make the pot of soup was $18. I remember when my wife used to make these big New York cheesecakes, it took $18 worth of cheese back in the 70s. I hate to imagine what it would cost now. The 5 pounds of chili I made cost $40. But it's still cheaper and healthier to eat at home. And it tastes better too. My next pot of pozole is going to cost $20 for a double sized batch. Still a bargain. I enjoy watching the family scarf down my cooking.

I enjoy watching the family scarf down my cooking. Kind of did the same. I prepared pork chops and ribs in sauerkraut a coupled of nights ago. Took the remaining kraut with the pork juices, fat and added sliced red cabbage, a whole head. Cooked it down. So good as a side for other meats.

Last night had a “safety meeting” at Texas roadhouse, nothim mentioned about safety…. Drank beer on the company dime, filet mignon, shrimp, caesar salad, buttered corn.
In Vegas tonight, loaded potato skins and deep dish pot pie at a mom and pop casino tucked back in the neighborhood. Great food, better than last nights.
