We put the corned beef on too late so I guess we'll have it tomorrow. Tastes good, but not tender yet and the potatoes aren't done.

We put the corned beef on too late so I guess we'll have it tomorrow. Tastes good, but not tender yet and the potatoes aren't done. About four hours cook time on the stove top for me. 3 hours alone, one hour with the potatoes and carrots, then the caabage for about 30 minutes or so. Some folks simmer their potatoes seperately from the pot with the brisket. I do that for large briskets.

I ended up cooking it for 9 hours and the potatoes were just right. Haven't had any as my bridge came out again. It's become an every Friday night occurrence.

Nine or ten hours certainly. But a great way to prepare a brisket. Sorry about the bridge coming out again. That must be tiresome for you!

Skipped lunch and probably supper. I had a cup of broth a few hours ago.
I sauteed seasoned chicken thighs in an iron skillet with white wine but probably will not eat them for a while.
Food seems to have lost its appeal for me.

Made several wild planet brand Albacore Tuna sandwiches for the pipe club swap meet.
All of the big names cook tuna once, can it and cook it a second time in the can.
Wild planet hand packs the tuna, it is fresh into the can, then they cook it. The texture is better, no fishy taste, and is better than bumblebee, chicken of the sea, etc…
Available on Amazon or Costco, worth it.

I used to buy it on-line, Amazon Prime.

I found a can of Soy Protein Powder at the back of a shelf. So with yogurt and water, I made a breakfast drink. Something I can get down. That might be the answer to my feeding problem. Soy powder is somewhat passe. Whey Protein is the rage these days. So I ordered some from Amazon along with milk powder. I will have to also step the probriotic supplements as this stuff can be hard on the gut.

At the pipe club swap, one of the guys mentioned he was on the Keto diet, and listening to the people deep dive into the discussion, I realized I would need to take night classes to be able to contribute.
