Soon I shall head up to Mrs. Rios Thai Kitchen in San Luis Colorado, some 20 miles north of here. We shall brave snow and ice to travel the winter highway. This against my better judgment as spicy food is not indicated with the type of inflammation which has plagued me for some months now. But, man does not live by bland alone.

Enjoy, and give us a report.

Returned from San Luis and Mrs. Rios Thai Kitchen. We were the only folks seated although many take out orders passed. Very cold and roads are rough. I had Massaman Curry with Shrimp and Tofu, number three hot. First spicy food since September. So far, so good.

Linguine Tutto Mare at Luigi's Sautéed mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari, and baby clams in a white wine sauce. That sound good about now. Me? Polenta in the crockpot and pintos from the pressure cooker. Beans mixed with EVOO and cheese for refritos. Polenta with cotswold cheddar for Cheese Grits.

Beshrew me but of all things I just bought a tofu press. Wanna try crispy baked tofu. I have enjoyed tofu for many decades. I get a very firm curd. Then it is baked or air fried to crispness. It is also good in soups in a softer state.

Just polished off a frozen chicken fetuccini alfredo. Boston Market brand. First one I've ever had. Quite edible, to my unsophisticated palate.

Now, I never tried it frozen, preferring to warm it in the oven or microwave. I suppose it has kind of a savory popsicle effect when eaten frozen. Now in the mid 1980s, I tried, unsuccessfully, to launch Frozen Pesto on a Stick. While I enjoyed it, few others did as well. (Ok, I will stay in my room the rest of the evening). Seriously, now, Boston Market is a credible vendor of frozen meals ready for reheating.

I believe that their frozen foods are better than the restaurant food.
