Yesterday I received the monthly tobacco order of my usual smokes... ...200g HH Pure VA Flake ...100g Peterson Flake ...and 100g Limerick VA Flake Wessex Brown VA Flake and Wessex Brigade Campaign VA Flake are all sold out. I'll keep an eye out for them. Seems like availability of those Wessex blends has been spotty for quite a while. It's been like this for years. Both the Brown VA Flake and the Campaign Dark Flake will disappear from the shelves for a few months and then show up in small quantities. This often results in two-tin limits from the retailers. Looking at the once-a-year availability of BBF and FVF, I should be grateful.

Pair of sprue cutters for model making as I have appeared to have lost mine. I swear as the way these things usually work out I will find them now that I have ordered the replacements.

Had to look that one up. Yep, that's how it always works. When you need it, you can't find it. When you replace it, it won't get out from under foot.

You can find the old ones easily once the new ones arrive. Just ask yourself “Now where should I put these to be sure to find ‘em?”

WOW that is a gorgeous pipe Been looking for a Van Erck for a while. This one turns out to have been made the year I graduated but will likely be a display piece.

I got a very early Pioneer calabash in original box in need of repair. I’m inclined to think that the pipe was damaged in 1958, since some of the original packing in the box was supplemented with a piece of newspaper dated May 14, 1958.

I finally was able to order my favorite Wessex Flake tobacco although it seems to be selling out fast already. By late next week I'll receive...
...100g Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake ...and what appears to be the last available tin of Wessex Brown VA Flake.
Two tin limit, so I'll just enjoy what I get.

Pete Geek Zippo lighter. Been using my Zippo lighters mostly this winter. Awhile back Boss was working cow's and branding asked me if I had a lighter one of the few laughs I have had this winter.

I do all my own repairs and restorations on calabash pipes. I am thinking with this one I might install a whole new stem arrangement and change the geometry of it a bit. Since it has a full curve to the gourd, material can be removed to achieve that. I’m not the biggest fan of the full bent style that this pipe is. I prefer the bowls to be further away from my face and bit nearer to parallel with the bowl. Or I’ll just repair it and sell it, it does have collector value and is barely used, with original box.

The reality is that it ended up in my box of broken and parts calabash pipes where it will sit in similar company. My thought is that one day I’ll have fun fixing all of them up.

Apparently. No negative votes anyway. This is my current system lineup… Afraid I’m in kind of a rut. None of my other pipes come even close to the smoking enjoyment of the Pete deluxe systems. They’re about the only ones I smoke anymore. Yeah, I know— boring. But what can I do?

And Z92 in all of them.
What's your routine for cleaning them?

Demount. Remove stinger. Run cleaner thru stem. Run cleaner thru stinger. Double cleaner, run thru body. Clean pit with Q-tip. Clean bowl wit Q-tip. Do this after every smoke or as near as convenient.

I have two of them now. They do smoke great. I think they actually stay lit better than some of my other pipes. I didn't know you could remove the metal part.

Except for a defect like Bob's, the more you smoke your Pete, the better it smokes. About half of mine are fully broken in, but they were estates, except for the 20FB Deluxe System. I did that myself! 😁
