No. It was a crack in the bowl. Tobaccopipes replaced it when Peterson wouldn’t.

Yes. I just wasn’t sure what defect you were referring to.

Pair of sprue cutters for model making as I have appeared to have lost mine. I swear as the way these things usually work out I will find them now that I have ordered the replacements. Had to look that one up. Yep, that's how it always works. When you need it, you can't find it. When you replace it, it won't get out from under foot. I had to look it up too. And it makes sense that sprue cutters would be for cutting sprue, had I known what sprue was.
But you've touched on the second reason for buying more Czech tools at every opportunity. The first reason, of course, is to replace the ones you've inevitably lost. The second reason is to make the ones you've lost reappear.

8 ounces of C&D Bayou Morning, 8 ounces of Mountain Camp, 2 ounces of Super Balkan.
And, not related to the leaf and bowl (except in the peripheral sense of associations with study and contemplation): Great Courses DVD sets for Ancient Greek and Latin.

Amazon rolled up to my door yesterday, with two Carhart pocketed T-shirts. I don't know why, but every time I leave the house in a nice T-shirt, it never has a pocket; and pipe smokers need pockets! These things are my first Carhart items ever, and they'll likely outlive me, they're built like iron, and almost too heavy for warm weather...but they have pockets!

That saying, "handy as a pocket on a shirt," exists for a reason.

I'm a day late posting it, but I got a box of goodies in the mail from Plainsman yesterday. A nifty little Baraccini nosewarmer, a Bob's Make leather stand for it, and a Bob's Make .308-.357 tamper (nickel-plated edition). Thanks, Bob!

I can verify the quality of Vornado fans. I bought the medium-sized one back in about 1993. It finally quit running after about 25 years, and it had been through the wars. I've got a smaller one I bought about 5 years ago. It's still running strong. They also really do get the air moving.

Among many things I got in the mail I received what is competing for my finest antique meerschaum pipe in my collection. This is as I got it, uncleaned. It’s huge, I wear XXL size gloves for perspective. The bowl portion is the size of a pop can. All of the silver is expertly jeweler worked. The initials on the lid are solid gold set in the silver. There is a coat of arms on the bottom. I’m really happy with this one. How big is the chamber on that thing? It looks like it could hold a couple of tins!

Wow. You gonna smoke it, or club intruders with it? Both?
But seriously, are you gonna smoke it? Any idea of its origin?

The chamber is quite deep, but not ridiculously wide. I would say it would hold about 1/2 to 3/4 of an ounce of loose tobacco, or a tin and a half of flakes.
