I have 3 tins of Astleys, Royal Tudor, on the way...one of my faves. Hopefully the order will be here by the weekend. I bought from Iwan Ries and really think they are a fine establishment...Polite service from knowledgeable staff. Turns out IR called me up this morning and said they only had one tin in stock. So they still get a plus for politeness, but being knowledgeable about their inventory is out the door. 😋 I can't say that surprises me. I visited IR a couple of times when I lived in eastern Iowa, and it was indeed a good experience. Technologically, though, they are so far behind the curve they can't even see it. I'm not surprised they don't have any kind of real-time inventory system.

I picked up an estate pipe from SP. It's a Golden Arrow 291, made by Comoy's. It's in excellent shape, although the mortise-tenon joint is a bit looser than I'd like. About as classic a billiard shape as billiards gets:

They left a message indicating they had found three tins and wondered if I was still interested. 🤔🤔🤔

I do tend to like flakes, it seems. A lot of my favorites are flakes: Orlik Golden Sliced, Evening Flake, Marlin Flake, Navy Flake, Luxury Bullseye Flake, etc. Most of them I do a fold and stuff. Some of the thicker flakes, that doesn't work very well. Virginias, VA/Pers, and Virgentals are in my wheelhouse, but I find I've been smoking more Englishes lately.

Some Peretti stuff.

Seemed to be just a tad bit of confusion on their part. Thank you, Gentleman.

My Briarville purchase arr’d. Pete XL315 standard system with box and bag. I hesitated on this one b/c of its small size, compared to the Pubs and Houses, and the lack of a stinger. But it smokes very well indeed.
