Good to know. You recognized his style of photo, or you had your eye on the same listing? Chance’s pic style is unique and recognizable. Last weekend I was bidding on an Eltang Lumberman from Deadmanspipes but dropped out and it ended up going for about $125 more than I considered it to be worth.

I don't trust myself not to get snookered. But this one came via Ted, so it had passed somebody else's inspection before I looked at it. The guy's feedback was nearly 100%, so I decided to go for it.

I bought my latest estate BBB from a trusted eBay restorer and dealer, Doug Valitchka.

Not in the mail, yet. I pulled the trigger on a pipe that I've had my eye on for a little while. It's a 1996 Ashton Old Church LX Canadian. It'll look nice keeping company with my Dunhills and Upshalls.

Ashton makes a good pipe. I know people swear by the Taylor-era ones, but I find the current ones are excellent, too.

Peterson Rusticated XL307 longer stem than I have seen on other 307's and it has the brass tip instead of aluminum like on stem like the newer Deluxe Peterson's do. From Steve Laug also a Rustiblast 309, I think it is an XL309 it is taller than my other 309 by about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. Two Pete's in one day.

Not anything expensive. A 100-cigar capacity box with a glass top and hygrometer. From Thompson, forgot the brand. Seasoning it now.hope to start filling it in 10-12 days.

I have 3 tins of Astleys, Royal Tudor, on the way...one of my faves. Hopefully the order will be here by the weekend. I bought from Iwan Ries and really think they are a fine establishment...Polite service from knowledgeable staff.

I bought from Iwan Ries and really think they are a fine establishment...Polite service from knowledgeable staff. Turns out IR called me up this morning and said they only had one tin in stock. So they still get a plus for politeness, but being knowledgeable about their inventory is out the door. 😋
