I need to take a sharpie to pipe club meetings. Last night I had a great smoke from a baggie that came my way from the pipe club meeting, don’t remember the blend, don’t remember the person that gave it.
Frustrating when that happens.

"Briar pipes will save you money -- as low as $2.00." Saved money compared to . . . meerschaum? You omitted "Schoenleber." "Schoenleber briar pipes will save you money -- as low as $2.00." Meaning that they were cheaper than competitor pipes in the same tier.
I just finished some Sutliff Uno in a Pat # 1970's Dr Grabow Regal apple.
Now reaching for some 2017 G.L. Pease Key Largo in a Peterson 106 Aran chubby billiard.

Digging through the cellar because Im craving an english for once. I ran into my Justforhim stash and stopped at Bombadil. Up next... Shortcut to Mushrooms! I haven't smoked STM in a loooong time.
In a J. Everett Egg. This pipe is now a dedicated aro pipe. This thing reeks of peanut butter

Meaning that they were cheaper than competitor pipes in the same tier. That's not how it's capitalized, though. It's capital-B "Briar". The name of the company isn't "Schoenleber Briar". And it's not any kind of trademark they stamp on the pipes. So, either "Briar" is the first word of the sentence (hence where I picked up the quote), or it's just miscapitalized (and therefore does not say what was intended). I demand a belated erratum!

It sounds like an exotic underpants shop.

In the previous sentence in the advertisement, they also capitalize Briar Root pipe. "Schoenleber Briar pipes will save you money -- as low as $2.00." is written as a sentence. Briar is not the actual name of the wood of which pipes are made. I believe they often used Briar in caps with it being it's own name/description/trademark for Erica Arborea root balls. It was done often back then in the 20's-40's and in pipe ephemera. Real Root Briar, Olde Bruyere, Imported Briar, etc.

It was discontinued and I went back to pick up all that I could. Well, it was gone. So I grabbed Bombadil and Treebeard and haven't been back since. STM was a blend like other. Bombadil is an interesting one. I can't remember what Treebeard even tastes like.
