It isn't going to stop unless smokers realize that grinding axes with complaints about the government isn't the same as fighting back. What the NY State is proposing might just be grandstanding, but how would such legislation be passed? Any regulation of tobacco is undemocratic unless put before voters in a well-represented and debated referendum. Such legislation amounts to prohibition and needs to be decided in the voting booth.

LoL! I’d rather take my chances with the slow bureaucracy of the NY State Legislature than with a vote by Joe and Karen sixpack! Seriously, smoking is very unpopular and if anti tobacco legislation ever came up for a popular vote it would be an overwhelming defeat.
